LOKAYUKTA AT VIRAJPET; Lokayukta Venkatachala and his team is touring Virajpet taluk today. Visiting hospital at Gonicoppal and few other departments in the morning, Venkatachala is receiving complaints and listening to grievances at Virajpet. He has called the meeting of officials in between and holds inquiries in the evening. CHILD MOLESTED; Tention is mounting in a tiny town Napoklu as an 18-year-old boy allegedly molested a five-year-old girl. According to police, one Kiran molested a class one student belonging to another community on twentieth. The parents who maintained secrecy lodged a complaint yesterday. The boy was arrested and a case was registered against him. Tension mounts at Napoklu as the house of the boy was attacked and ransacked by a group yesterday night, after the incident came to light. Police troupes were deployed in the area. TEMPLE GETS FACELIFT; MLC Mr.Arun Machaiah yesterday conducted Bhumi pooja for the construction of Community hall at Padi Iggutappa temple premises. MP Mrs Prema Cariappa has sanctioned rupees ten lakh for the construction. People in large number witnessed the pooja. MP’S GRANT MISUSED; In a hand in glove incident of officials and a contractor, large amount was misused in the name of building a stadium. The residents of Ammathi, led by a coach, Ainanda Nanda alleged that the contractors did not undertake works worth even fifty thousand in the stadium, but have drawn sanctioned amount in full. MP Mrs.Prema Cariappa had released rupees twenty lakh for the stadium. The records clearly show false mention by the officials that the stadium work was completed. They have shown the works done during the family hockey as done by them. Former minister Mr.M.C.Nanaiah has alleged that MP grants to the district is being misused. He called for a thorough inquiry into all the works undertaken with the grant amount and punish the guilty. |
