BUSSES TO BE NAMED ‘TALACAUVERY’

The Director of Vigilance and security, Karanataka Road Transport, Mr.Bhaskar Rao told this correspondent that all busses touching Madikeri would be named as ‘Talacauvery’ from October 17th.

He said that this was done in line of busses going to Tirupathi named as ‘Venkatadri and busses to Shimoga named as ‘Sahyadri”.

Mr.Rao said that the state busses are today fit to compete with any other private services or even doing better.

Meanwhile, he paid a surprise visit to the KSRTC bustand here and verified cleanliness and facilities. He noticed that a bus had starting trouble. Another had no lights and one more without a first aid box. He instructed the depot manager to look into these and adviced the staff to keep the vehicles fit.

He also instructed the manager to send a proposal for parking facility inside the premises and cover the drainage.

He also visited Somwarpet and listened to the grievances by the public.
