CROCODILE SENDS SHOCK WAVE;

 

A crocodile noticed on the banks of river Cauvery at Kushalnagar has sent shock wave.

 

The residents living around stated that they use river water for washing cloths and vessels regularly and now they fear crocodile attack.

 

The seven foot long crocodile was noticed on the river bank few days ago.

Residents have appealed to the authorities to provide protection.

 

 

INQUIRY OF SEXUAL ABUSE BEGINS;

 

The infamous sexual abuse of NSS students by forest officials at Nagarahole National park began at Virajpet court.

 

The principal munciff yesterday conducted enquiry of CoD  DySP Mr.Prakash. The accused , suspended ACFO Mr.Annaiah and NSS state official Dr.Ravikumar were also present.

 

It can be recalled that the students filed complaints against the above two of abusing them sexually between December ,2002  and January 2,2003 at Nagarahole National park. Around 130 NSS students including 30 girls were involved in a camp which ended with harassment. Complaints were registered at Kutta police station under many sections.

 

The then Krishna government suspended forest officer Annaiah during 2003. He was also booked by Lokayukta in a timber haul.

 

The next hearing is posted to December 6.

 

 

FORMER MINISTER DIES;

 

Former minister and a senior congress leader Dambekodi A.Chinnappa died in a private hospital early today at Mysore.

 

Chinnappa, who was an advocate and an agriculturist, has served as the DCC president.

 

He leaves wife and children.
