FORTY LAKHS FOR DRINKING WATER;State Water and Sewage Board has taken up a rupees forty lakh project to supply drinking water to towns around Kushalnagar. The officials from Indian Institute of Sciences and ABETS who visited Kushalnagar told that the water would be supplied by producing power through Bio Technology. They told that 100 Kilovat power would be generated through this technology, which is sufficient to run two motor pums for twenty-four hours. The new technology which requires agriculture wastes, dry leaves, saw powder etc would be implemented at Kushalnagar, Mullusoge and Gummanakolly villages. The project will come to force in the month of December, according to officials. MCN ALLEGES POLITICAL INTERFERENCE IN CO OPERATIVE SECTOR;Former minister and MLc Mr.M.C.Nanaiah regretted that Co operative sector has hassels like political interference, which hampers its growth. Addressing the centenary programme of Co Operative movement after inauguration here, Mr.Nanaiah said that the co operative sectors should function independently. He regretted that the sector could not reach a qualitative level since the political interference is seen here. He urged the self-help groups to develop self-reliance. The lady representatives speaking on the occasion urged the need to stop sale of two-digit lottery. The co operative Union president Mr.M.P.Muthappa, DCC bank president Mr.Matanda Monnappa and others spoke on the occasion. Exhibition and sale of items produced by self help groups was held during the function. |
