STATE LEVEL BADMINTON KICKS OFF;The four-day state level Badminton tournament kicked off at Madikeri yesterday. Sponsored by the District Badminton Association, the tournament would be held indoors at North Coorg Club. MLC Mr.Arun Machaiah inaugurated the tournament, while Mr.Madan Somanna presided. The secretary of the state Badminton Association, Mr.Sudhir will distribute prizes to the winners on 18th. More than hundred teams from all over the state are taking part in the tournament. GOVERNMENT OFFICE COMPLEX TO COME UP;Reliable sources informed that a new office complex would be built at Regulated Market Corporation compound. It is stated that the departments occupying the Fort building, including the Deputy Commissioners office would be shifted to the new complex. The district administration arrived at this final decision after locating several spots to build the complex. LIGHT MUSIC ENTHRALLS AUDIENCE;Madikeri Nagendra and team from Mysore yesterday enthralled the music lovers through their melodious light music. The troupe performed at Vijaya Vinayaka temple, here during the celebration of 6th anniversary. Mrs Indrani Ananth Ram and others accompanied the troupe. This action comes in the wake of the urge by the Archeology department to shift the offices to preserve the monumental building.
