DALAI LAMA TO VISIT BYLAKUPPE;Tibetan Spiritual leader, Dalai Lama will visit rehabilitation center at Bylakuppe on December 3rd. Reliable sources said that the Spititual leader would camp there till December sixteenth. It is also said that the Chief Minister Mr.Dharam Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Mr.Siddaramaiah will meet Dalai Lama at the Golden temple on 13th December. ACCIDENTAL GUNSHOT;An agriculturist Mr.K.P.Ganapathy of Taltare Shettalli was injured yesterday as he accidentally pressed the trigger of his gun. Injured on chest and shoulder, he is shifted to Mangalore for treatment. THE HI FI THIEVES!Police are concerned as number of thefts at Kushalnagar is on the increase. In a chain of thefts being held since two days, thieves have broke open into a shoe shop, eggs shop, lottery shop and an Ayurvedic clinic. Total value of the theft if yest to be established. According to police, the miscreants have used a jeep to break the doors. Clues were found that a rope was tied to the hind portion of the jeep and the other end of it to the doors. Moving the jeep pulled doors. Investigation is on. SANGAM TROPHY HELD;The three day Sangam Foot Ball Trophy ended here yesterday with Bhagavathy Youth club clinching the trophy from boys’ side and Ponnampet Cauvery team lifting the girls’ trophy. Hundreds witnessed the breath taking finals played at Maragodu grounds yesterday. While the boys’ team beat MCC team by 2-0, girls team beat Lions high school team by 7-6. Addressing the gathering chief guest Mr.Ramakrishna opined that the governments have been neglecting Kodagu and its sport even though it has contributed a lot to the Nation, militarily. Mrs.Kaveramma Somanna presided over the function and distributed the trophies. |
