KOAVA BECOMES AIR MARSHAL;

 

A resident of Koagu, Baltikalana Chengappa( Venu) , serving as the Vice Air Marshal is lifted   to the position of  the Air Marshal.

 

Mr.Chengappa was recently conferred the ‘Ati Vishisht Seva Padak’ by the president of India, Dr. Abul Kalam, recently. Mr.Chngappa is the son of Baltikalanda Uthaiah couple.

 

 

 

TAX OFFICIALS SEIZE LORRY WITH SPIRIT;

 

In a raid conducted at night, Income Tax officials of Kerala have seized a lorry transporting unlicensed Spirit worth rupees 1.68 lakh at Chemberi gate at Kodagu – Kerala border.

 

The officials stopped the lorry carrying manure under suspicion and inspected the load. Spirit gushed out as a sharp object was pierced into the manure. About 48 cans of Spirit were stored under the manure.

 

The Kerala officials suspect the hand of Karnataka police, forest officials and wildlife wings since the lorry smuggling Spirit sailed through these gates, unobstructed. This is not the first time Kerala authorities are seizing smuggled goods being transported through Karnataka gate.

 

 

PRATIBHOTSAVA KICKS OFF;

 

The deputy commissioner Mr.Srikanth Valgadh yesterday inaugurated the two day Pratibhotsav at Madikeri.

 

Mr.Valgadh stated that this Utsav is an occasion for the talents hidden in rural areas to come out. BEO Mr.Sridhar addressed the gathering.

 

The two day programme is being organized by the Kannada and culture department. fDifferent forms of arts are exhibited in the programme by different groups and organizations.
