GINGER LORRY MISSING;

 

A lorry transporting Ginger from Kodagu to Vijayavada is mysteriously missing, according to police.

 

A Ginger trader from Napoklu,Mr.P.K..Ganesh has complained that he was forwarding 122 bags of Ginger worth rupees 1.31 lakhs to a dealer at Vijayavada in Andhrapradesh.

The goods was being transported in a lorry belonging to a contractor at Hassan. Though the lorry had left Kodagu, it has not reached the destination even after a week. Mr.Ganesh has lodged a complaint against the transport company, Kohinoor Transport of Hassan.

 

Circle inspector Mr.Sundar Raj is investigating the matter.

 

 

POLICE STATION GHERAOED;

 

Police station at Napoklu witnessed two protests in one day against its functioning.

 

Women representing different organizations staged a protest demanding impartial investigation over the allegation of a 18 year old boy molesting a girl aged 6.

The protestors said that the boy was innocent and a case was fixed against him.He was also harassed inside the police station.

 

Protestors were referring to the incident reported at Napoklu , allegedly on 22. A complaint was lodged by a Muslim family that a class one student was raped by one Kiran aged 18 years. The boy was arrested by the police. Now the protestors demanded inquiry.

 

 

ANOTHER PROTEST;

 

In another protest, people gheraoed  the police station alleging harassment of an innocent person.

They alleged that the police beat one Hanif who had been to the Napoklu Police Station on a passport job. The protest was withdrawn after the Sub inspector assured enquiry into the matter.

 

Meanwhile the mob beat a scribe, Mr.Thimmappa who had gone to police station for reporting.A complaint was lodged in this regard.

 

 

DELHI CHALO BY CNC

 

The General Secretary of the Codva National Council, Mr.N.U.Nachappa told scribes here today that a Delhi Chalo programme is organized on this 9th.

 

Stating that the programme, day long Satyagrah on 9th and seminar on 10th would be held at Delhi to stress the need of an Autonomous Codava Land i.e Codavastan.

 

Around hundred activists from Kodagu will take part in the programme, he said. The seminar would be addressed by Professors and advocates, he described.
