WOMAN DIED

A labour woman died after she was dragged by power tiller in a paddy field at Kunda village near Gonikoppal.Mahadevamma (25) a native of Hunsur was working as a labourer in the paddy field of Gummatira Subramani. Suddenly, a tiller used for ploughing in the field accidenatally cacthced the saree of the woman Mahadevamma who lost her banlance and fell on the tiller itself. She succumbed to injuries in Goinikoppal hospital.

LOTTERY COSTED LIFE

The lottery attachment of a family person costed the life of his own wife.Manjunath, the resident of Mutharmudi village near Murnad married Halamma(21) of Nanjangud four months back. Manjunath was using the earned wages to purchase lottery ticket irrespective of his wife’s protest. Ultimately she decided to commit suicde and jumped ito a stream and ended her life Police are investigating.

THALACAUVERY RENOVATION

The Thalacauvery, an important piligrim centre especiaslly with the fame of her birth place, is now geared up for the commencement of Special Poojas and relgious performances from today. The main and the foremost work of establishing the two temples of Lord Agasthyeshara and and Shri Mahaganaptathi is in the final stage. The architectuaral work under the supervision of Shri Prasad Muniangala is almost in the finishing stage.On 26th (Today,) The arctitectural stones will be paired off without using the cement.All these stones are ready for immediate work after the two temples are completely dismantled.For the continuation of regular poojas atThalacauveruy the temporary temples are construcrted and the regular poojas will be performed there. The installation of idols by Kshethra Neeleshwara Thanthri will be startred at 11.30 A.M. on 26th at Thalacauvery.

Since 1994 , the loclalites are forcing the Govt. For rejuvenating the piligrim centre. The Ex. Ministers M.M.Nanaiah, M.C.Nanaiah, Suma Vasanth and the Deputy Commissioners Jayarmaraje urs, jayanthi, Ramachandra and Palaksha have done the preliminary works.About Rs. 2 crore is spent for the construction of dormitaries, toilets at Bhagamandala and other infraustructural works.

Smt. Chandrakala, the ex. Z.P.president, Mathanda Monnappa, the disssolved renovation committee chairman, the public agitation commiittee, the dissolved Mujrai comittees have completed the Astrological guidances, plans and estimations with the help of Karnataka Chief Architect Udaya and the State ex. PWD E.E. T.D. Manmohan. The removal of ghostly affects in the piligrimage area was also done by the then renovation committee through several homas and visiting several piligrim centres.

During the regime of S.M.Krishna the Govt. Itself took up the project by forming a Cauvery development Authority under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. Thimmegowda, the MD of Cauvery irrigation project became the member secretatry of Cauvery Authority.The Govt had sanctioned Rs.. 10.50 crores for the overall developmnet. A few days back the Govt. had cleared the sanctioned amount with the final administrative appoval. The tenders for the infraustructual works has been approved .Dharamsingh the present C.M. will be the present chairman of the committee and the local M..L.As and officials have been included in the list.
