SIX HELD IN WILDLIFE SKIN HAUL;CID wing of Mysore police have arrested six persons, including two from Kodagu and seized four lakh worth tiger and cheetah skin. According to sleuths, Ramesh of Gonicoppa and Poonacha from Ponnampet along with four others had been selling wildlife skin at Hunsur and Bilikere areas. Others arrested were Satish from Hunsur, Rehaman from Chikkerur, Sabastin from Kerala and Venktesh from Mysore. PROTESTORS BLOCK TREE AUCTIONING;The Land holders association led by former MLC A.K.Subbaiah and Kuttanda Gopi Appaiah successfully blocked auctioning of trees at Thithimathi. The association has earlier warned that the auctioning would be stalled until their demand to right over the trees is granted to them. The forest officials postponed the auctioning by convincing the bidders who had come to take part in auctioning. Meanwhile, Mr.A.K.Subbaiah has called upon the landowners to go ahead with cutting the trees for their own use. He has officially cut a log with a saw to encourage the practice in a rally held by farmers at Kondangeri, recently. ONE CRORE FOR VIRAJPET DEVELOPMENT;The organizing secretary of BJP, Mr.Katti Poonacha has said that an action plan of rupees one crore for the development of Virajpet Town is sent to government for approval. He said that the government would approve the plan under Urban Development programme. Addressing a press conference, he said that the MP Mr.Sadananda Gowda submitted the plan to Central government. MLA Mr.Basavaraju is persuading the file, he informed. |
