THIS BOY LOST EYES DUE TO TEACHERS NEGLIGENCE;

A second standard student here has lost hope of one eye due to the negligence of his teacher who failed to provide him first aid.

In a complaint lodged to the Deputy Commissioner here yesterday, one Addu Rai has complained that the class teacher of his 7 year old son, Shouthif in AV School, maintained by the City Municipal Council was denied first aid as a rusted wire pierced through his eyes while playing with his friends on December 3rd. Though the incident occurred in the morning, the boy was made to sleep on the bench till evening without any medication and allowed to go home only after the last bell.

The injured eye swelled after three days inspite of treatment in a privateclinic here. He was shifted to Mangalore on the advice of the doctor. However the doctors at Mangalore said it is too late to treat the eye. The boys’ parents have appealed for compensation

SMALL GROWERS EMRGE WITH TOUGH STAND;

In a Taluk level meeting of the Small growers held at Gonicoppal yesterday, resolutions are passed to react sharply against the odds of auctioning their properties by the Banks and lathergy against fixing support price by the government.

Mr.Katti Mandaiah, president of the district unit stated that the MLAs’ who do not support their cause would not be allowed to enter the district, black flags would be demonstrated against them in their meetings, roads would be blocked if the government fails to reverse its order allowing banks to auction or attach their properties for loan.

Addressing the meeting, Mr.Gopi Appaiah stated that time has come to exhibit their courage and strength by fighting to the cause. Different speakers said that they should be prepared to fight the bankers in case they come to attach the properties and growers should be prepared to enter the jail.

Mr.Katti Manmdaiah said that the final decision about their stand would be taken in a meeting at Madikeri on this sixteenth..

TEMPLE UNVEILED AT BYLAKUPPE;

The Spiritual Guru of Tibet, Dalai Lama unveiled a new temple at Bylakuppe yesterday.

Dalai Lama recalled that the relationship between India and Tibet is atleast one thousand year old through Buddhism and Hinduism. Buddha Gaya and Ganges linking the two regions is a clear evidence for this, he said.

Corporation minister mr.S.R.Moare representing the Chief minister stated that the India government always supports the cause of the Tibet in its peaseful fight.

Mr.Penorimpote of Ningmapa organization also spoke on the occasion.

NETAJI FOUNDATION TO ORGANISE YOUTH;

The Netaji Probe and Search Foundation would organize youth to fight ills of the society in National level, said its chairman Mrs.Lakshmi Parvathy, wife of late N.T.Ram Rao.

Addressing scribes here yesterday, she said that the principles laid down by late Subhash Chandra Bose has disappeared. To rejuvinate the ideals of the great leader, youth, students and women would be organized by 2005 and fight the ills of the society.

She said that the Government is not cooperating in her fight to probe the cause of Netajis’ death. Mr.Bebobroth Biswas was also with her.
