MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF HOUSE WIFE CREATS UNREST;Tension prevailed at Virajpet yesterday as a death projected as suicide by the members of the family took a new turn. A house wife M.K.Jessi, 43 died at her house on the night of 7th. Her husband, serving in armed force, Mr.P.R.Pitambar and his parents took her to hospital in a dead position and stated the she has consumed poison. While the dead body was kept in the government hospital, public and relatives of Jessi gathered before the police station and urged the police to book an atrocity case against the husband and his parents. They alleged that continuous harassment and torture by her in-laws and husband is the reason for the death. On receiving complaint from the mother of Jessi, police arrested Pithambar and his parents were arrested and sent to judicial custody. Mrs.Vishnu Bhat of Womens organization and others have urged impartial investigation into the incident as they suspect it to be murder. BJP TO PROTEST BEFORE CM”s OFFICE;The state BJP has threatened to stage protest before the office of the Chief Minister, if it fails to release Special Package to Kodagu. The elected representatives yesterday met the CM in his office under the leadership of Mr.Shankara Murthy and appealed to him to immediately release the package amount. They mentioned that the district in charge minister to Kodagu, Mr.Tanvir sait had announced that the special package of rupees 107 crores earmarked by the earlier government is now cancelled. They regretted that the Kodagu is being ignored by the government while packages are being announce to other districts. |
