CRPF PERSONNEL SUCCUMBS;

A CRPF personnel, hailing from Kodagu died at Srinagar while on duty.

The family sources said here that Mr.Dhanu Chengappa, 33, died at Kishwar in Jammu two days ago. However they are at dark as far as the exact cause of death is concerned.

Dhanu is the son of Mr. Devaiah is a native of Arameri village.

The sources said that the body arrived at Bangalore yesterday and it will be brought to Kodagu today for cremation.

The deceased was appointed to CRPF, 148 battalion in the year 1991. He was a bachelor.

NESTLE HOCKEY TO KICK OFF;

The five day Nestle Cup hockey will kick start tomorrow at Ammathi.

The secretary of Coorg Hockey ASSOCIATION Mr.Subramani told this correspondent that all arrangements are done to start the event, which is completing ten years of its start. The Nestle sponsored Hockey is being conducted by the Hockey association and Skanda Coffee Company.

Around eight teams from the district will fight in the event to lift the trophy. The local teams can include five National champions into their fold. National players Mr.Dhanraj Pille, Samir Dadh and others are expected to play. Personalities from the sports field will also be honoured on this occasion.
