Dear Parents & Students:

Welcome to my website I’m very excited about the prospect of becoming a teacher. My goal is to provide the highest quality educational experience for each individual learner in my classroom. In striving to reach that goal, I believe the following components are essential in creating a safe learning environment that cultivates and assists with educational needs:

Students and teacher will work together to create an environment that is respectful and fosters positive growth.

Students should exhibit responsibility with their academics

The teacher should provide a well planned, academically challenging learning environment that addresses individual student needs

The teacher should be an active participant in the learning process, working in partnership with students and parents to achieve predetermined goals and outcomes

My goal as a teacher is to provide meaningful instruction, activities, and projects that challenge students to read, write, think, and speak with a clear understanding of academic goals. Upon completion of the year students will be given a variety of opportunities and options to demonstrate their knowledge, growth, and learning.

I encourage parents/guardians to play an active role in their child’s education. The following is a list of suggestions for doing so:

· Encourage students to make academic goals; short-term and long-term

· Help students create positive study habits and conducive study environment

· Create family learning moments that encourage exploring, explaining, and experimenting

· Refer back to website for update and/or clarification of assignments and projects.

· Participate in at least one school function that models community involvement, helping to encourage the same in your child.

Learning is the ability to challenge new ideas with appropriate tools and resources. In essence we must be the village that raises our children to be contributing constructive citizens.
