With his fame resting on just one wild, late-in-the-day rockabilly release in 1960, Marty Lott (his stage name) was tracked down in 1978 by Derek Glenister who discovered that the masked one's musical career had begun, predictably, in country music until he heard Elvis. He missed most of rockabilly's golden years due to a spell in the US Navy between 1956-58 and resumed his career by recording the amazing "Love Me" in 1958. After a series of disastrous delays, Dot released the record in January 1960 at the insistance of an unlikely advocate : Pat Boone, but Pat's only real contribution to rock 'n' roll's history was made too late and the record was stillborn. Lott was involved in a car accident in 1966 that left him partially paralysed and unable to take advantage of his rediscovery in the late 1970s like other obscure rockers.
