THE ROYALS - by Al Kelly The Royals were from Detroit and actually had three leads Henry Booth, Hank Ballard and Charles Sutton, who switched off leads. Charles did the lead on this song ("The Shrine Of St. Cecelia," Federal 12121, 1953). They also sang as the Midnighters and backed Hank Ballard. The Royals had several hit records including "Annie Had A Baby" with Hank and the Royals backing him, later changed on future pressings to the Midnighters.
