From: "Dik de Heer" Date: Sat Jan 12, 2002 2:31 am Subject: Born To Be With You : Lew Williams LEW WILLIAMS (By Dave Penny) Born Lewis Wayne Williams, 12 January 1934, Chillicothe, Texas Vocalist/guitarist/composer. 1999 saw Bear Family Records issuing BCD16347, the complete '50s recordings of rockabilly Lew Williams who, between 1953 and 1958, debuted on the tiny Dallas label Flair before being signed to Imperial Records where he made now classic cuts such as "Bop Bop Ba Doo Bop" and "Cat Talk". These releases were ignored at the time, but took the European rock 'n' roll clubs by storm in the late 1970s when they appeared on the "Imperial Rockabilly" LP series. Finally tracked down in 1998, Lew had to relearn his repertoire before appearing as the headline act at Viva Las Vegas in 2000. Lew has his own web site at http://www.lewwilliams.com/
