The HI-LITES by Al Kelly The Hi-Lites were from Danbury, CT off RT 84 (traveled it many a day)The group got started in '57 and just sung at local hops and charity events in the area. The group led by William Tucker had a big following. They had recorded for the Danbury label called Record Fair but somehow their manager signed a contract with Julia Records led by Tom DeCillis of Newark, NJ. So the group had recorded several unreleased tunes for Record Fair thet never released them after the first one because of the legal problem. The manager wanted to get some more material for Record fair so while waiting for the group to show up, the Tabbys of Hackensack, NJ were also waiting to record. (they had releases on the Time & Metro labels) so the manager got the Tabbys to record two songs and "(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons" was one of them. Kenny Clay is lead on this song, by the way, the other song was "Gloria" which was released on the Julia label. This song was released as by the Hi-Lites and very few people knew till years later.
