Recorded 2 singles for Dot in 1958, probably backed by the Big Beats. Debut A side Whatcha Gonna Do credited to Earl Henry( available on Ace`s excellent West Texas Bop cd). Sang with Tommy Allsup`s Western Swing band on tour with Crickets and later replaced Holly in the Crickets. He sang lead on 18 Crickets sides recorded between November 21st 1958 and November 12th 1959 (16 of those sides are available on Bear Family`s Still In Style cd by the Crickets). It`s Earl Sinks vocals you hear on classics like Someone , Someone, I Fought The Law, Deborah and When You Ask About Love amongst others. Earl moved to Nashville in1960 and recorded for several labels under several names like Omegas, Holidays, Sinx Mitchell and Earl Richards. Later he appeared in low budget country films, had a few country hits in late 60s as Earl Richards, before entering the management/record business field. He later produced Merle Haggard and Mmm- mel Tillis!
