Alledgedly a cousin of Elvis Presley, Glen moved to Memphis with his family in 1940 where he attended Humes High School until undertaking a four year stint in the Army. On his return he formed a group called the Rhythmaires which included Jack Clement. It was Clement who took Honeycutt to Sun, for whom he cut demos, a single and some unissued numbers. The single I'll Be Around and I'll Wait Forever was a low key affair, but an unissued song, All Night Rock is archetypical Sun rockabilly. Also left in the can was a Jerry Lee styled mid-pacer, Campus Love, which would have made a cracking single with All Night Rock. He cut the rocker Right Gal, Right Place, Right Time for the Memphis label Black Gold and re-cut Campus Love for Fernwood, where it was released with the country number Tombigbee Queen. He spent his working life as a postman in Walls, Mississippi, just south of Memphis. He made a triumphant debut in Europe at the 23rd Hemsby in October 1999.
