In late 1961, following his service in the US Navy, Glen D. Hardin was playing piano in Los Angeles' famed Palomino Club. In 1962 he became a member of The Crickets and can be heard on such records as "Don't Ever Change", "Little Hollywood Girl" and "(They Call Her) La Bamba". During the sixties he was in great demand as a session man, was a member of the regular band on the Jack Good-produced "Shindig" TV show and wrote several hits for Gary Lewis and the Playboys (including their # 2 "Count Me In") and Dean Martin. In 1969 (along with his best friend guitarist James Burton) Hardin joined the Elvis Presley TCB Band as keyboardist and musical arranger/conductor. Glen D. has been arranger and recording session pianist with artists such as: Emmylou Harris, John Denver, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, George Jones, Dolly Parton, the Everly Brothers, Ricky Nelson, Kenny Rodgers, Roy Orbison, Linda Ronstadt and many others. He left Presley's band in 1976 and toured with Emmylou Harris for three years, with The Crickets for eleven years and with John Denver for sixteen years.
