THE DE'BONAIRES - by Al Kelly The De'Bonairs were a Chicago, IL group led by Ralph Johnson and made their first recording on the Ping label out of Chicago. Their first single called "Mother's Son" started to get some action and was grabbing sales in several large cities. Vee Jay Records, also from Chicago, had one of their groups, the Delegates, record the song and covered it nationally with better distribution. "Cracker-Jack Daddy" was the group's second release and really never made it out of the Windy City. In '58 they recorded one more release for Bud Brandon & Leonard Allen's B&F label out of Chicago and that was it for the group's recording career. They did play clubs and bars and split in '64.
