THE CONCORDS - by Al Kelly The Concords went thru many lead singers with Joel Katz, Richard "Dickie" Goodman, Neil Stevens, Teddy Grable and the one that stuck the longest Mike Lasman, who also recorded as Mike of the Utopians. The group started in '57 singing around Brooklyn corners, dances and shows. They got their first recording session on RCA ("Again" is it!!) and it was a one shot deal so they moved to the Gramercy label for a couple releases with Dickie Goodman on lead (yes, he's the partner of Buchanan & Goodman of the Flying saucers records). Another lead is Mike Lasman and a record on Rust & Herald and in moved Teddy Grable on lead with one release on Epic Records. The group had a few really unknown releases in the late 60's and backed Joel Katz in '65 on the Amber label. I do believe there was a CD called "Best of the Concords" put out by Ed Engle on one of his many labels.
