Although his show varies little from year to year, the demand is still there as he's a seasoned performer and no mean guitarist. As you would expect of someone growing up in Philadelphia he had a pop sound although his first recording, Boogie Woogie Blues is a storming instrumental. He hit number one in the States with Butterfly which allowed him top billing for an April 57 Alan Freed show. When he came to the UK he recorded a live album, Live At The Stockton Globe, which has since been reissued on CD. He only had another top 20 hit in America with Fabulous which again climbed high in the UK. Other UK hits included Wanderin' Eyes, I Love You So Much It Hurts and Cool Love. Check him out next time he's in your village hall, he's a pocket dynamo whose live sound is rockier than his singles ever were.
