SONNY FULTON & THE MIXMASTERS - by Al Kelly Sonny Fulton was discovered by Marty Notas, who was a local retailer in downtown Philly, and heard Sonny singing on the street. He got Sonny to practice and get a group together. Sonny cut his first record for Marty's Chelsea label and had another with Chelsea and the third release Marty leased it to a native Philly guy, Herm Kaplan who was co-owner of Sunbeam Records. Herman Kaplan later in '60 moved back to Philly and was the operation manager for Cameo/Parkway when they were in their big time days. This record became a hit in many areas. Sonny went on to a great career singing blues and R&B and had several hits in the 80's
