The Philly Capris were a short lived group that started singing in '53
and recorded their first record in '54 with "God Only Knows" Ivan
Ballen's Gotham label in South Philly. Ballen also owned a large
pressing plant and put many of his artist to work in the plant and many
helped press and label their own record. The group broke up in '56 with
several of the members joining the Air Force. They got together in '60
for this record on Ballen's 20th Century label. Ivan's son Morris was
now running the labels and plant while Ivan was in semi retirement. Rene
Hinton was the lead on their earler Gotham releases and Ruben Wright
took over the lead when the group reformed.
