Why do we still study Shakespeare and his works today?
Whether it was Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford who wrote the works, or William Shakespeare of Stratford, or even someone else, all scholars can agree the works attributed to Shakespeare revolutionized plays. Shakespeare's name would appear on any list of the greatest playwrights in history. It is important for us, and for future generations to study his works because he is a great cultural influence. His works were written over four hundred years ago, but they are still studied today and should still be studied for many generations in the future.
