Hello, my name is Sweets. Thanks for taking the time out to visit my page. I'm 25 years old. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. I'm always looking for new things to do in Toledo and surrounding areas so go ahead and drop me a line and let me know how you spend your weekends.
Lets see...I frequent poetry nights. I've probably been to every open mic night in the city of Toledo. I was part of the infamous group called "The Renaissance". And although I still enjoy hearing poetry, I don't write much anymore. My new thing is Short stories. Hopefully I'll have a collection of them finished soon. Maybe I'll post some of them when I�m done. See, now you have a reason to come back to my site. (Other than to stare at the picture of the very pretty girl at the top of the page). Oh, and I also enjoy the art scene. You know the many galleries we have in downtown. My favorite is Space 237 and I also enjoy "it�s Friday" at the Toledo Museum of Art
T.O.A.S.T. It stands for The Online Art Society of Toledo. It was created by two graphic designers in toledo and what started as a Yahoo! group turned into a web page. On the Yahoo! site there were poems and graphic arts and polls and of course random chatting by people trying to get to know each other. But the Web page is turning into something much bigger. Its a place where you can post anything you call art. And they don't disclude anyone. If you play an instrument and you don't think you would have anything to display on the site, think again. You can take a pic of you playing your favorite instrument and post that on the site. and then you could tell us where you perform at and The members of toast have proven to be very supportive. Hopefully toast can mature into something the Toledo arts community can really appreciate. For those of you who feel like there is absolutely nothing to do in toledo. You’re probably right. Noooo, i’m just playing. Try checking out http://www.toledo.com or http://www.toledoarts.org/venues.asp On very, Very, VERY rare occasions there is something we don’t know about happening in this city and you can find it at one of these two sites.So run on by, check it out an THEN, only THEN, if you still can’t find anything to do here in our precious Glass City, Then you can say proudly that Toledo Sucks!! But hopefully you'll find something really great to do and make alot of new friends and go around town with an orange sign that reads "Toledo is Great". Okay, maybe I did go a tiny bit over board. How about a yellow sign?? Still to bright??
The portal is my friends site. He's a graphic designer. It's basically an online resume. (So if you know someone who needs a graphic designer, pass along the info. Please) Anyway, if you are like me, and are interested in looking at art that other people creates then you will definitely like this site. I am completely facinated by his thought process.
