  Designing Jacquard fabric for Home furnishings.

Work Experience/Industrial Exposure

• Industrial Training at Mulberry Silk International Pvt Limited, Bangalore. (7 weeks)
  Designed a collection of Silk Jacquard Furnishing Fabrics, Textured silk blended fabrics and Tafetta stripes and checks. Learnt Nedgraphics, textile design software .
• Summer Training at Wooltop Weaves, Chennai. (3 weeks) 
  Designed a collection of bed, home linen and a tableware collection with embroidery as the main surface ornamentation.
• Craft Training at Weavers ,Calcutta.
  Exposed to the technique and process of Block printing and Screen printing.
• Craft Documentation on silk Ikat Weaving at Puttapaka, Andhra Pradesh.

 
Workshops Attended

• Felt Workshop - The idea of the workshop was to understand and explore the properties of felt as a material. We also learnt the traditional technique of felting used in making Namdas.
• Shibori Workshop - A two week workshop where we explored the Japanese Techniques of tie-dye and clamp dyeing.
• Web Design - This was an introduction to html programming and graphics in web page designing.The emphasis was more on the information architecture and Graphical user interface.
• IWS Design Competition - Designed Shawls for the International Wool Secretariate competition 2000.
