Shaeya Sedjet Namir was an Irish Gypsy who went by the name of Kaldina Daljin before her brother sold her to a certain young, curly haired pirate for 20 gold pieces.  You see, Camden was a sailor on the Painted Lady when he met our dear lil' Sedjie.  (If you want to read their story click here.)  Anyway, Kaldina was taken aboard the Painted Lady much against her own will (Camden tossed her over his shoulder and carried the whole way back to the ship like she was a sack of potatoes.  And there was much profanity from Kaldina).

Once aboard the
Painted Lady, she proceeded to wreak havock on Camden's life.  She was bound and determined to ruin his life much like he had ruined hers.  But soon, she realized that he hadn't ruined her life.  She no longer had to dancein the street for money to feed her family.  She pretty well had it made.  Soon, she and Camden became very close, and they eventually realized that they were in love (long after everyone else, I might add).

Captain McCloud of the
Painted Lady bestowed Kaldina with the name Shaeya Sedjet because it meant "Little Fire."  Boyo, did she earn it.  She is quite the little spitfire!  McCloud adopted Shaeya as his daughter (his own daughter had died five years before from an epidemic).  He took care of her and made sure she knew how to protect herself if they were ever overtaken by another ship.  Captain McCloud was killed by marauders, and was avenged by Camden.

When the crew of the
Painted Lady disbanded, Sedjet and Camden went their own way.  They ran into Brenna Nikita in tavern, and Sedjet fell into hero-worship with the woman-pirate.  Brenna hadn't wanted to take on a male crew member, but Sedjet puersuaded to make an exception.  (Sedjet could talk a rain cloud into buying an umbrella)  So, they boarded the Song of the Siren, and Sedjet became our beloved Gunner.

Sedjie can be a bit trigger happy, and she has quite the temper.  The girls and Camden have had to flee many a tavern because she either pulled a gun or one of her knives on a man for looking at her cross-ways.  Poor Camden.  Sedjie has a vast arsenal of weapons and takes much pride in it.  She loves the look of pure terror in the eyes of any man who boards the ship thinking he is going to pillage and plunder a ship full of women.  She takes no prisoners.  The marauders never stand a chance.

Sedjie is an adorable, but odd looking for a gypsy.  She has shortish, choppy auburn hair and golden eyes. Her skin is creamy and pale and she has a fine sprinkling of freckles on her nose.   (The Irish Gypsies, are a very odd bunch.  They are not descended from the Egyptians like the Romani tribes.)  The girl doesn't even touch 5'0" in height.  But what she lacks in height, she makes up for with her outrageous personality.  Your first impression might be that she is too big for her britches.  You may find yourself scoffing, saying, "Camden let himself get beat up by
her?!";  however, when she draws her guns on you, you will realize that she can back up all the shit she talks.  Do NOT ever scoff at her while in her presence.  Do NOT look at her crossways.  She has guns and she knows how to use them.  She WILL shoot you!  Do not let the obnoxious cuteness and diminuitive stature fool you!  This blood-thirsty marauder will rob you blind and then leave you for dead!  I have given you fair warning.  It is your choice whether or not you  will heed my warning.
