WHAT'S THE DEAL?
This trilogy sort of focuses on an evil girl named Catherine Hatchet. All of the Cataluna novels are in two parts - one is in the past and one is in 1995. Basically, Catherine is declared evil and said to practice witchcraft. Her mother helps her escape by turning into a cataluna - a car. Throughout the parts where the novel is in the past, this guy is constantly trying to defeat Catherine as when she was to be hanged, she changed into a mouse and jumped into his father's eye sockets and clawed out his eyes, and jumped down his brother's throat and suffocated him. But in the present, everyone who sees the Cataluna loves it - it's a convertible. But basically everyone who drives it comes to a grisly death. One group of kids 'borrow' it when they find the keys inside, and the radio goes so loud that their ears explode. Why didn't they just get out? The doors wouln't open, and the top wouldn't open. One guy gets the car for his 17th and when he goes undeneath to fix an oil leak, a stream of boiling hot oil is shot into his eye, killing him. Ouch, Two other guys end up as roadkill and the list goes on. Not my favourite trilogy, but well worth a look. |
