-Its just a fun game!
Ahh....The legend continues.... The Zelda series is known for alot of things: Great battles, monsters, and Storylines. But the thing i like about Zelda the most, and this is why I got hooked on Ocarina of Time, Its the sense of freedom you have. You could Hours just exploring the overworld, finding hidden items, playing mini-games and just goofing off and letting Link drown or jumping off really high cliffs
Yet I didnt feel that same sense off freedom as in Ocarina. It seems your being rushed through the adventure by your boat,The king of red lions. Its like you just got one of the jems needed to break a curse and the boat's all "We havent a moment to lose! Hurry to the next island!
This is all fine and dandy on your first play though but afterwards you want to explore more and sooner. That's problem #1 I have with this game. #2 would have to go to the whole "sailing thing" It can get tiring at times. Especially before you get the warp song and must travel along distance. These 2 pet peeves are what keep The wind waker from getting a 10,but they dont stop it from being a classic.
Now lets talk about the HUGE list of good things about this game! I'll try to not have many spoilers but if a few slip oh well. Everyone and his mom have probaly beat it by now. It is rather short. The battle system is of course the best out of all other RPG's. The lock-on system is unrivaled and the new parry attacks are cool as well. As for the "cotraversial" graphics, They're among the best I've seen on Gamecube. I'm a big fan of anime and welcomed the cel-shaded look with open arms. The reflections and shading on Link as you move through a dungeon are great. Its always fun to hurt innocent animals,in this case pigs. They behave like the cuccos in all previous Zelda's. The new characters introuduced are cool too. Link's sister Aryll is really cute! And Tetra the pirate (with a secret) is a favorite of mine too. I also liked the Rito tribesman and Medli.
I felt like the game makes you too powerfull because compared to A ink to the past and Ocarina
This ones very easy. I was pumped before the last battle with Ganon only to find him a slight pushover. He should've had a second form like in ocarina but he couldnt because his Triforce piece is gone. Over all I liked this game very much and I'm still repeatedly playing through it. I give the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker......8 out of 10.
8 out of 10
