Kingdom hearts is an action RPG and a damn good one at that. A noble effort,Square (Now called Square-Enix) has successfully brought the best of Disney worlds and Final fantasy worlds together as one. Its like Disney and Final Fantasy had a baby...and that baby is Kingdom Hearts.
You play the role of Sora ---> A young boy who lives on Destiny Island, along with his best friends Rikku and Kairi. The 3 friends are working on a raft that they hope will allow them to go out and see what lies beyond their tiny Island. Yet things go wrong right from the start. A strange storm moves in on Sora's island. Curious, Sora goes to check it out. The storm contains evil monsters called The heartless. They steal hearts and destroy worlds. And Sora's home is next on their hit list.
Unable to even hit the Heartless with his training sword,Soras at a major diadvantage. He heads to his friend Rikku. Rikku seems to not be afraid of what is happaning and he gets swallowed up by darkness and warped to a different world. Sora is still on the island...but his sword has been replaced with a giant key-shaped sword. The Keyblade.
And with That, KH is off to a interesting start. I could go on and on and on complimenting this game. But every game has a flaw, and as usual I start ny telling you about em.
Well guess what? the only problem i had was that its not long enough. KH has llots of things for hardcore gamers to do,(like try to beat Sephiroth) while also having elements for casual gamers. I thought the control scheme was perfect but it can be adjusted if you wish.
10 out of 10!
Best game on PS2 in my opinion. And if ya didnt want my opinion...why read the review -___-
Donald and Goofy join the scene when King Mickey turns up missing with nothing but a single note. They have a responsibility to go find him and on the way they bump into Sora. Sora helps em in a fight and BOOM their working together threw the whole game. The storytelling is good. The graphics are better than FFX and the CG graphics are about the same. I also like the voice acting better than FFX. I seem to be comparing this to FFX alot.Oh well.
Bottom line. If you like Square_enix at all or if your into Disney even in the slightest pick this one up. And if ya like action RPG's in the form of Zelda you cant possibly pass this up. Its the closest thing PS2 has to Zelda. Buy IT! Your heart will be glad you did. ^^
