Appearance: Calypso inherited her unique look from her Wutainese mother and the fair-skinned, light-eyed islander tribes that produced her father. Tall for her genetic background with a figure sculpted by years at sea and physical training, Caly is as skilled at using her body in pursuit of her goals as she is her mind and weapons. Shes also had a lifetime of experience at disguising herself and fading into the background of various cultures and social circles, a skill that served her well in her smuggling days.

As a matter of personal style, Calypso favors luxurious materials and the finest tailored leather and trim work of precious metal or crystal chimes. To a large extent she considers the ebb and flow of the air currents around her to be as vital as an actual garment and has no set style as long as the clothing is unique, flattering and bares as much of her body to her element as possible.

Background: Calypso learned to hate ShinRa at an early age.

Born into a life of piracy and smuggling aboard the Black Anis, Calypso's family made their fortunes plundering the supply ships intent for the ShinRa forces invading Wutai. As the western continent's resistance began crumbling, their occupation turned into a cause as ShinRa became a threat to the freedom their family organization had always known. Smuggling quickly became armament and information dealing and, as the war dwindled, their familys small fleet became one of the sole dependable sources supplying the remaining resistance. This eventually lead to their systematic eradication as ShinRa set their considerable resources and manpower to clearing the western waters of pirates.

Barely a teenager, Calypso escaped the capture of the Black Anis on the sister ship captained by an elder brother, losing her parents and three of her brothers to a taskforce led by a Turk named Tyler.

After their escape, the remains of fleet and family fled for less dangerous ports and eventually took to the land. While ShinRas presence spread like a cancer, Calypso slowly rose to the head of the struggling smuggling ring and quickly turned the organization in a new direction. Smuggling, arms dealing, narcoticsCalypso had her hands in everything, no matter how corrupt and dangerous, and was determined to undermine ShinRas control...even if she could only do so by breaking their laws. All the while she was planning her revenge.

With a well-paid mole within the executive offices and a lover within the military branches of ShinRa, Calypso let herself be captured, putting a plan years in the making into motion. She would escape her cell and use the assistance of her tools to assassinate as many ShinRa dogs as she could...and eradicate the Turks. She just hadnt planned on the end of the world.

Finding herself alive in the ruins of the city, Calypso stumbled from the rubble and into the hell of the Plague. But once the fever passed, she was faced with an interesting predicament. Unlike most espers, Calypso hadnt lost the memories of her life before the plague...and she didnt buy into Sierras proposed vision of the future. Armed an instinctive control over the elemental force of Air, her driving ambition, intelligence and viciousness, she understood that a new power would rise from ShinRas ashes. And if she couldn't rule at the right hand of the new-god-rising, then she'd serve at his feet until the moment was right to topple him from the heavens and bring her own vision to fruition.

Limit Skills:

I:
Aerial:
Calypso wraps a wall of air around herself that repels physical attacks.
Circe:
A barrier of wind wraps around a target, nullifying or even back-firing their magic attacks.

II:
Eos:
Named for the mother of the winds, this attack converges the four cardinal winds, simultaneously, upon the location of a target, in effect catching it in a vice of air that can only be broken by the will of its creator or a sudden lapse in Calypsos concentration.
Zephyria:
A multiple attack where Calypso throws Boreas and Zephyrus at her enemies then pinballs the chakkar off of wind-created ghosts of herself to ricochet them at the remaining targets.

III:
Eurus:
The East wind; a wall of mini-cyclones mow down multiple targets.
Notus:
The North wind; a single target becomes the focal point for the heart of a moderate sized cyclone, this causes no physical damage to the target but takes him/her out of the battle through imprisonment within the twisting winds. The winds themselves cause light to moderate damage to nearby allies who fail to dodge.

IV:
Sirroco:
Calypso envelops herself within her winds and flies within their gale for a multislash attack on all targets while protecting herself with a wind shield the equivalent of a Wall spell.
Typhon:
A massive cyclone forms around Calypso, hurling enemies and allies alike away from her, effectively clearing the battlefield within her immediate area.
