Prep

During this investigation, I tried to focus on the history of this area. We felt that by knowing the history we would be able to prove/disprove paranormal occurences. Through talking to people at the park we heard a number of stories about Valley Forge. The tales that we heard helped us to decide where we would concentrate our effort at this large investigation site.

Investigation

As stated above there were a number of stories told to us by locals.
Varnum House
Story:
A person was dressed in full kit and sitting between the Von Stueben statue and the Varnum House. While sitting there six people dressed as soldier's from the Revolutionary War period, walked by laughing and pointing at him. He left and went to find out which reenactors were making fun of him, but was told that there were no reenactors in the park that day.
Investigation:
Video and 35mm pictures were taken of the Varnum House and down the sloping hill, away from route 23. Although, we have some beautiful footage we found nothing in the photos. Also, additional history was obtained about the building.
Dewees House
Story:
In Winter of 1999, on a cold sunny morning, 2 men and one woman in period clothing walked past. They wore green coats which most likely means they were riflemen.
Investigation:
Again video and 35mm pictures were taken of the house, and additional history on the house was obtained. Pictures showed nothing out of the ordinary.
Washington's Headquarters
Story:
A girl in period costume ran out of the headquarters towards the Conrail train tracks.
Investigation:
We toured the house, took video and pictures, and obtained more historical facts about the residence. However, nothing showed up in the pictures.

Synopsis

Although, nothing was found in the photos or seen by myself personally I feel this is a site that we should return to investigate further. There are a great many paranormal stories that are told about this area, and the terrible deaths of Washington's troops seemingly support these stories.
