Investigation 1.0a - Case Number 1

Date: 12/1/2000

Location: , Glenside PA

Names: George H., Mike C.P>

Floor: Basement

Time: Approx. 18:45 - 19:45

Room: There were 6 rooms including the garage. Only the "half-moon" room and garage had separate doors.

Temp: Cold, "half-moon" room was colder than rest of basement.

Equipment: Digital Video Camera, Hand Held Recorder, IR to Sound Detector.

Description

I did mainly 3 passes: 1st pass was just video camera to get the layout of the basement, 2nd was hand held recorder, and 3rd pass was with the IR detector.

I have listened to and watched the recordings I made. The video showed nothing out of the ordinary except in the "half-moon" room. I did a quick shot of the window and the frame did strange things, I would bet this is from magnetic disturbance. I'll have to get an EMF detector. I should look the video over again. I have listened to the other recording and heard nothing unusual. The IR detector measured incredible variations within the basement. I heard an especially strange pulse a few times. I also noticed that the strange readings seemed to be moving. The "half-moon" room had a different IR background than the rest of the basement, other than that I noticed nothing unusual. We did 2 passes with the IR detector: 1 with the lights on, 1 with the lights off.

Description

I did a pass with the video camera, and a pass with the hand held recorder. I noticed nothing strange in the video, one of the still pictures did show a little area that looks like a reflection to me. The recording had a lot of background static that could be explained by the microphone not being handle correctly.

Synopsis

I need to listen and watch the recordings again looking for more detail. I need to make a better version of the IR detector and more than one. I think in general we need to fine tune our methods.

I think that my findings with the IR detector warrant another investigation after I get a better version built..
