Chapter One

It’s been a while since Lance’s secret has gotten out to the world. That Lance Drayton of the Elite Four is really a girl named Anna from Blackthorn City. Across the land, millions of people wore expressions of surprise or disgust or both.
Meanwhile Lance stared at the sky. He or she has been hiding in Valley of Dragons from the prying eyes of the media.

“Why do you still use that name? Everybody know the real you now. You should use your real name, Anna?” Claire, Lance’s sister said as she sat down on a boulder.

“You know I hated that name in the past, what in the world makes you think that I’ll use that name, again?” Lance answered.

“It’s just a thought. So what are you going to do?” Claire asked.

“I’m still Dragon Master. I mean I should say that I am still Dragon Mistress. Either way, I have a duty to perform as both Dragon Trainer and member of Elite Four.” Lance replied. Claire smiled and nodded to her sister’s speech.

“Beautiful choice of words, my dear sister.”

Lance just smirked.

Silence reigned. Lance continued to stare at the sky and Claire stared at her sister.

“Anna?” Claire broke the silence.

“Hmm.? What is it, Claire?” Lance asked. “Please call me Lance. I really hate that name.”

“All right.” Claire took a deep breath. “Lance, Lorelei called me before.”

“Why?”

“She didn’t say. All I know that she wanted you to call her back.”

“I think she going to expelled me from the Elite Four. I know Bruno wantsto.”

Claire let out a chuckle at her sister’s last statement.

“Well, is not my fault that I was popular with the female fans when all of the world thought I was guy. I can‘t help it and Bruno was so pissed when he found the truth.“ Lance sighed with hint of aggravation. She collapsed on the grassy ground and lay down.

“Are you going to call her?” Claire asked.

“Not yet. I’m going to take nap.” Lance yawned.

“Already? It’s not even the afternoon yet and you didn’t eat your lunch.”

“I talked to Dragonite already. He said the media are still talking about me. I doubt that Lorelei wants me call when there are probably some disguised reporters in our headquarters and I‘m not hungry.”

“I guess so. I had better head back to my gym.” But the only response that Claire got from Lance was soft snoring.

***********************************************************************

“That thing should be banned from Elite Four.” A voice boomed all throughout the hallways of Elite Four Headquarters.

“That thing? Do you mean Lance?” Lorelei asked as the loud voice approached her office.

“Yes! He or she lied to us from the beginning so therefore she or he should be expelled.”

“First of all Bruno, calm down. Secondly, why should Lance receive such horrendous treatment?” Lorelei said calmly.

Bruno slammed his fist on Lorelei’s desk so hard that her papers flew everywhere. Poor Lorelei gathered her papers as quickly as she could and placed them in the nearest filing cabinet.

“Control your temper or you will experience firsthand what ice pokemon will do when their trainer is being attacked.“ Lorelei sat down on her chair as she let her voice go cold at last two words.

“Yes, ma’am.” Bruno quickly sat on seat near Lorelei’s desk.

“Much better. And before you begin to rant like a madman, you should know that I already knew about that.” She said calmly.

“Because I told her.” An elderly woman appeared from the shadows, next to her was a Gengar.

“You told her but not me, Agatha. Why?” Bruno snapped.

“I didn’t exactly tell her. She figured it out herself and I just filled in the blanks.” Agatha said as she approached Lorelei and Bruno.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Bruno repeated.

“Its Lance’s secret, not mine.”

“Then how did you know in the first place?”

“When you have lived as long as me, sonny, you learn a few things about the world.” Agatha remarked dryly.

“Like what?” Bruno’s voice grew impatient.

“Calm yourself, Bruno. Remember that you are a member of the Elite Four and you supposed to show dignity and respect to all pokemon trainers. You are not supposed to throw temper tantrums and especially not when the media is in high alert.” Lorelei stated.

“I agree with Lorelei. I could have said something to you about Lance. But you were always too busy sulking and being jealous of him.” Agatha added.

“Oh, great. What is this day? Pick on Bruno Day?” Bruno said. He turned to face Agatha. “Again, how did you know about the cross- dressing freak?”

(Lance woke up from her nap with a sneeze.

“Is someone talking about me?” she said to herself.)

Agatha gave out a soft, pitying sigh.

“You are so pathetic. You may be a strong rock-type pokemon trainer but when it comes to Lance, you are nothing but a jealous fool.” Agatha stated.

Before Bruno spoke up, Lorelei interrupted him.

“That’s enough. Actually, I am glad you guys are here. There are more important matters at hand.” Lorelei’s tone of voice sounded like it could halt a snowstorm in its tracks. Her fellow colleagues stopped, growing silent, and give the ice pokemon trainer their full attention. “Thank you. As you may or may not be aware, pokemon listen to the trainers with the goodness of their heart. But remember, there was a time that pokemon did not follow humankind but fought them and almost destroyed the whole world.”

“Yes, my father told me those horrible stories when I was kid. I didn’t believe my father until he showed me my ancestor’s scrolls.” Bruno said as he shook his head.

“Believe it or not, it’s true.” Lorelei replied and silently thanked God that Bruno had dropped the subject about Lance.

“But what about it?” Bruno inquired.

“I believe that time will come again.” Lorelei answered.

“Why?” Both Bruno and Agatha asked. Lorelei gave both of them a file.

“Do you remember the time that Lance infiltrated Team Rocket?”

Agatha cut Bruno off.

“I remember.” Then she blushed. “ I almost arrested him.”

“Ha. Ha, ha, ha.” Bruno gave out a laugh. “You almost arrested Lance?!? Ha, ha, ha, ha.”

“Well… Lance really looked like a Team Rocket Member.” Agatha shot Lorelei a look for help.

“Sorry, I can’t help you there. You did the same thing to me when I disguised myself as Team Rocket.” Lorelei shrugged.

Bruno gave another laugh.

“You did that to Lorelei, too?!?” Bruno almost cried out in laughter as Agatha’s face turned crimson.

“We are getting off the subject.” Agatha stated with embarrassment.

“Are you done?” Lorelei asked Bruno. Bruno nodded his head and tried to control his laughter. “As I was about to say, when Lance infiltrated the Team Rocket base, he noticed a hidden project being done by Giovanni  himself.”

“What kind of project?” Agatha asked.

“I have no idea but all that I know is that it has to do with pokemon and their long- forgotten battles with mankind.”
