Here’s part 4! Remember, Ash doesn’t know his pokemon killed Misty! Oh, and ‘ means ‘s because my computer won’t let me add ‘s on pokemon names. :(

Note: The reason I set review counts is so I have time to finish writing parts of chapters. So quit complaining! I get writer’s block a lot!

The next day, Ash was out scouting for pokemon. Giovanni was happy since they had easily conquered Pallet Town. Unfortunately, while he was out, he saw several armed police vans and trucks heading for Pallet Town. “What the-! Somebody must have alerted the police force and they’re heading for Pallet!” He said. He quickly pulled out his cell phone. “Jessie, James! Police are heading for Pallet Town! They’ll be there within half an hour!” he said.

“What?!” Jessie asked. “Yep! Gather the teams and be on alert!” Ash said. Then, he smiled. “Well, it won’t hurt to trip them up a little bit before they get to Pallet. As long as they don’t see me first…” Ash said as he tied his hair back with a gold headband. “All right then. Omastar, Kabutops, Squirtle, go!” The three aforementioned water pokemon appeared. They stared at the road, puzzled.

“Kabutops, dig a hole in this road!” Ash said. “Squirtle, Omastar, fill it up with water!” The pokemon obeyed. “See, here’s the plan. This is the only road to Pallet. So they won’t be able to avoid this hole and their trucks will sink. Or at least some of them will.” Ash said. (Oh. I get it!) Omastar said.

Ash and Pidgeot hid inside the trees bordering the road to watch. Soon, the trucks drove by. Thinking that the lake-sized hole was just a shallow puddle, the first few trucks drove across. They immediately sank. Officer Jenny gasped and jumped out. “There’s a hole here! It seems pretty deep, too! We’ll have to walk around it,” She said.

Ash waited until the policemen all unloaded and started picking their way around the hole. Some people were unlucky and slipped, so they had to be fished out. The poor Growlithe’ were all recalled, because they couldn’t stand water. Then, Ash flew back to pallet.

Jessie and James had not been idle in his absence. All the Rockets were hiding, ready to ambush the police when they came. The grunts and white teams in the first flank all had water-type pokemon, which would be good against fire types. The next flank had rock types, which were also pretty good against fire. There were also two people with dragon-type, which were super effective against fire.

When the Jennies got to Pallet, they didn’t see any Rockets, but they were prepared. They sent out all their Growlithe’ and Arcanine’ to sniff them out. However, most of the fire puppies were silently picked off by water, rock, or dragon pokémon. Only about 3 or 4 of them made it back to report.

Then, most of the Officers headed for the town hall, since they knew there were rockets there. Ash, Jessie, and James were waiting. “Arbok, Lickitung, go!” “Wheezing, Growlithe, go!” “Aerodactyl, Clefable, go!” Ash shouted, since his water pokemon were tired from earlier battles against Growlithe’. Clefable descended and started to Sing. Aerodactyl fired Supersonic waves through the air, Arbok Glared and Lickitung Licked pokemon into paralysis, while Wheezing Smoged the area.

Most of the officers were easily beaten and captured, but one or two managed to stay awake through the gas. Unfortunately, one of them saw Ash in his TR uniform on his Aerodactyl, firing hyper beams at the officers’ pokemon. She managed to crawl away because she had a Diglett that dug her back to Pewter.

The single Jenny immediately told the League, which was shocked and full of unbelievers. After all, she did not have any proof, and what was one jenny’s testimony against the Supreme League Champion? However, Jenny somehow enlisted the aid of all her sisters, declaring that they would all quit their jobs unless Ash was put on trial. So what was the League to do?

Ash grimaced. “They’re fools, all of them. I’d kill them without a thought, only that they’re needed, so what can I do?” he asked. “I won’t quit the team, my mother’s dead and Pallet’s taken over, so I have no real reason to leave. Besides, Team Rocket isn’t really evil, they just see stuff from the flip side of the coin.”

So Ash went on trial and unfortunately for him, lost his title as Supreme Champion and was banned from any more leagues. But did that stop him? Of course not! But instead of taking on another identity, Ash decided he had had enough of pokemon leagues and decided to become a pokémon doctor instead. And no, it wasn’t because of Misty.

So Ash became a team rocket medic instead of a field agent. The boss was surprised, but in any field, trained doctors were often worth a lot more than trainers, so he allowed Ash to take on another identity and go to medical school.

So Ash went through Vermillion University, got his degree, and then faded back underground.

Five years later…

“I quit.” Ash said.

“What?!” Giovanni asked. “Why?”

Ash frowned. “I have no reason to stay anymore. Besides, Serebii has warned me twice. If I don’t quit TR now, she’s going to kill me.”

Giovanni blinked.

Ash rolled his eyes. “Never mind. I’ll make this easy for you. Noctowl, Hypnosis!” The Noctowl, which he had caught in Johto during the ten-year break, popped out of its poke ball and charged Giovanni. Gold beams shot from its eyes. Giovanni suddenly felt inexplicably sleepy and fell asleep.

“Noctowl, Mind reader. Erase his memories of me. Do the same for the rest of team rocket.” Ash commanded. Noctowl obeyed, but when it was halfway through, it fainted from exhaustion. Ash sighed. “Noctowl, return. Fine. Flareon, mimic Noctowl’ mind reader attack and continue.” Flareon finished the job and was recalled. “All right. Teleport!” Since Flareon had mimicked Noctowl’ Teleport also, Ash was teleported to Cinnabar Island.

Ash had barely arrived in the pokemon center when he saw Serebii. “I suppose you’re happy now.” He said. “It’s cost me my family, my dream, my life…”

“You joined Team Rocket of your own decision.” Serebii said.

“Because he threatened to kill my mom and destroy my home!” Ash countered.

“So?” Serebii asked.

Ash growled. “How heartless are you?”

“I have no feelings. I just regulate time.” Serebii said.

“Are you happy now?”

“I guess. You made the right decision, Ash.” Serebii said, patting him on the head. Ash flinched, but Serebii didn’t notice. She fluttered off.

(Authoress’ note: There! Ash quit TR! Are you people happy now?)

Ash sighed.

“So what do I have to live for? I don’t have family, friends, dreams…. I don’t even have Team Rocket!” Ash asked.

< Well, you have yourself. > A telepathic voice spoke inside his head. Ash spun around to face Sabrina.

“Sabrina? What are you doing here? And how do you know who I am?” Ash asked.

Sabrina smiled strangely. She opened a hand and revealed a silver and red locket.

Ash blinked. “And that’s supposed to help me?”

            < Well, technically, yes. >

“Sabrina, get to the point! What are you trying to tell me?” Ash asked.

< Ash, do you have any clue what this is? >

Ash peered at the locket. As he touched it, he felt energy convulsing inside. He looked at Sabrina accusingly.

“This is Fortune’s.” Ash said. “How did you get it?”

< Not telling. But you need to keep it. >

“Fine.” Ash said, growling. He pocketed the trinket, turned and left.

            “Hey loser!” A voice yelled.

Ash spun around and spotted Gary. “Yeah? What do you want? Leave me alone!”

Gary looked hurt. “Aw, come on, Ash. You know I don’t really mean it.”

Ash was going to glare when he noticed Gary looked hurt. * Where did that come from? *

Gary spotted the locket Ash was holding. “Ash! Where did you get that?”

            “Eh?” Ash asked.

Gary reached out his hand, pleading. “Please, give it to me!”

Ash was about to answer when Gary toppled over.

            HAHAHA! Cliffhanger! Anyways, I guess that’s the end of this chapter! I’m sorry! I get writer’s block almost 24-7. *_*;

Okay, I need reviews. I live on them. Review or else I won’t update!
