The phantom racer is a jet powered car. The thing though is that it has two homemade jet engines that run off of rubbing alcohol. The great thing about using rubbing alcohol is that it will not burn without enough air. That makes it not explosive. It burns very hot and clean and it does not backflash.(not a promise)
The thought of making it where like a cool idea and nothing more. But I thought if it works in 3D space I might try it. So I drew up some designs and then it was finished.If you want to see them click here. But like any good design there is usually a better one. The original plan was to have vents come out on a pivot on the sides of the car but that is easily noticible and is hard to do on a limited budget. So the plan now is to mount the intake fans right through the bottom of the trunk floor or under the back seats so air can get in and be fairly unnoticable. The jet engines are mounted on a frame and then that frame rolls on tracks so that it can be rolled out through port holes through the trunk lid. That makes it fairly easy to convert the car back to a regular car.
The paint job that is one of my vehicles has a realy cool paint job I want to be done. I will as soon as I can. The hood of the car will have flaming eye on it and on the sides will have phantom flames on the side. That gave me the idea of naming my jet car Phantom Racer.
