Hello:

This will be a brief lesson on how to nest popups so that when you right click on your mouse to bring up a name you want a popup to apply to, the list does not take up the whole screen.

The first part is real simple. You use periods . to nest popups in a category. It is similar to what is done in English class when it comes to outlining. Only each time you add a . it adds another sub-category or layer. Here is a quick example:

Actions (since this is a main heading there is no period in front of it)
.Personal Actions (a logical a type of action, one period added)
..BBL: /me is leaving, but will be back later. } All of these are actions of a personal
..BRB: /me will be right back. } nature and so should be nested here.
..Made a Typo: /me is havving tytpinbg dificlutie.s } They are each preceded by 2 periods
.Actions Towards Others (again, a logical type of action)
..Comfort Someone: /me is comforting $$1 and offering sympathy. } Same thinking as above
..Disagree with someone: /me disagrees with $$1 $+ . } only directed at someone
..Give someone M&Ms: /me gives $$1 M&Ms!!! } Preceded by 2 periods
..Hugs (Since I have a lot of hugs I want a separate category)
...Hug 1: 13{{{{{{{{{{{{{ 3 $$1 13}}}}}}}}}}}}} } each type is preceded by 3
...Hug 2:/me hugs $$1 } periods to nest it under Hugs
...Pirch Hug:<))))>< :. $$1 a Pirch hug for you . <(((>
..Kisses (since this is a new type of action I go back to 2 periods
...Kiss: /me kisses $$1 warmly on her cheek (a type of kiss)
Remember, you cannot skip sequences. In the example above I did not go from 0 periods to 2 or from 1 to 3. If I would have they would not have been nested and I would end up with a long list. If you end up with that dreaded long list look at the section to see where you can do some nesting or where you left out an intended period.

Quick reminders:
If you want a horizontal line between categories put a hyphen (-) between them on a separate line

When a category has other popups nested under it an arrow will appear beside it.

When you are using Pirch Version 0.92 and click on Popups a window with four tabs appear. They are: Server Window (the popups here are found in the Servpop.irc file); Channel [Names List] (the popups here are found in the Popup.irc file); Channel [Main Pane] (the popups found here are found in the Chanpop.irc file); and PrivateMsg/Dcc Chat )the popups there are found in msgpop.irc). Theose of you using Version 0.87 will only find the first three.
Most of your popups of a personal nature you may want to put in Channel [Names List] or the popups.irc file. But put them where you can find them You can work in either the Popup menu or the file the choice is yours. You do not have to be online to edit the Popup menu but you do, and must be in a channel to test them. All of the files are text files you can use Windows to Associate them with Notepad.exe. That way you can use Notepad to open and change them. You can then also open them with any word processor since they will be activated as if they are text files.

If you are creating popups from scratch then here are the attribute codes for popups:
\-2 = BOLD (ctrl-b)
\-22 = Italics (ctrl-i)
\-31 = Underlined
\-3 = the ctrl-K that you would use at the command line
\-17 = the Pitched Fix Font (ctrl-f)
\-18 = the Symbol Font (ctrl-s)
The color codes are as follows:

0=White, 1=Black, 2=Navy, 3=Green, 4=Red, 5=Maroon, 6=Purple, 7=Olive, 8=Yellow, 9=Lime,
10=Teal, 11=Aqua, 12=Blue, 13=Fuchsia, 1=Gray, and 15=Silver.

And the color codes and other features can be combined!!! (An example not including the background feature)

Hello: \-2 \-22 \-3 10 Hello to all my \-31 Pirch \-31 Friends!!!

This would yield the words: "Hello to all my" in Bold, Italic, Teal lettering. "Pirch" would be Underlined and in Blue and the Friends would not be underlined and would be in Teal. I took off the underlining by adding the \-31 at the end of Pirch.

You may also give a popup a background by doing \-3 color number comma color number (\-3 10,8) then a message. The first number is for the letter and the second is for the background.

Re-doing the one above, without underlining it would look like this:

Hello: \-2 \-3 10,8 Hello to all my Pirch Friends!!!

Most of us just borrow the nice ones we see and modify them for our own needs (hint)
