Personality: Sofia is her father's daughter through and through. She's a bit of a hothead, but behind her facade is a sharp, calculating mind and she’s proven to have an inherent sense of business. She can be stubborn and pigheaded if she thinks she's right and it's almost impossible to prove her wrong - even if she is wrong, it’s rare she’ll admit it.
Sofia's an accomplished flirt and isn't above using her feminine charms to get what she wants. She inherited her father's frivolous nature when it comes to the opposite sex and never gets attached to her bedmates.
Her relationship with her father is complicated. While she admires him in some ways, she hates him in others and it’s confusing even for her. She loves trying to get a rise out of him and isn’t afraid to tease or annoy him.
Family:Vic Bergeron (father; alive), Birthe Sorensen (mother; alive)
History: born to a French and Irish dad and Danish and American mother, Sofia grew up as the result of a one night fling between Victor Bergeron and Birthe Sorensen, a dancer at Vic’s father’s strip club. Sofia grew up barely knowing her father, though her mother never failed to go to him when his monthly check wasn’t enough to cover her drug expenses.
Though her father’s money assured that she didn’t lack for anything while growing up, Sofia had far from a decent childhood. Her mother always had a constant string of boyfriends, most of whom supplied her with her constantly changing drug of choice, and Sofia was largely overlooked.
Sofia was always intrigued by and attracted to money, although there was rarely anything left over from the monthly check her father sent them to provide her with the lifestyle she knew she was meant to have.
As she hit her teenage years, Sofia began to understand what her father did and started putting the pieces together. Intrigued by his lifestyle - which seemed to be a never ending cycle of parties, women and excitement - Sofia approached him and expressed her desire to spend more time with him. Victor refused, telling her that there was no place for her in his life and that she should just live off his money and be happy.
At age 15, Sofia found out she had an inherited talent for necromancy when her mother woke up one day to find over a handful of living dead animals in the hallway outside their apartment. This occurred several times after that, always freaking Sofia out, before she figured out that she was the one doing it. After finding out that her father shared this ability, she went to him and asked him to take her in hoping this common talent they shared might make him say yes. But she was turned away again.
Angry, hurt and more than a bit tired of being overlooked, Sofia decided to take things into her own hands right before she turned. She contacted the police and ratted out her mother, forcing them to take her into state custody when they found numerous drug stashes around the apartment and landing her mother and her mother’s current boyfriend in jail.
Child Services contacted Vic and, not wanting to draw unnecessary attention to himself, he agreed to take her in. Sofia was now living with her father and quickly began learning his business. He’s made no effort to hide the darker side of his life from her and she soon got aware of everything from his assassinations to his drug dealings.
Now that she had the money to do everything she felt she’d always missed out on, Sofia took every opportunity to spend her father’s money and travel to all the places she’d always wanted to go. She eventually calmed down a bit and after her 18th birthday she got really into her father’s business, intent on learning the trade.
Strengths: she’s smart and a quick thinker, she can charm herself to almost anything she wants and could have a good career as an actress if she wanted to, she’s fluent in English, Danish and French, she usually finishes what she starts
Weaknesses: she’s not as much in control of her necromancy as she could – and should – be, she’s very stubborn and won’t admit she’s wrong,
