| Personality: She’s very self-confident. She knows who and what she is and she
has come to terms with the way her life has turned out. She isn’t quick to
anger but she won’t back down if someone gets in her face. She enjoys the
single life and isn’t looking for any sort of relationship. She tends to find
the humor in situations and sometimes her mouth can get her in trouble when she
says something at inopportune moments. She’s not much of a physical fighter,
preferring to argue with words or smooth a situation over by talking. She has a
soft heart especially for strays like herself and often mothers them if they’ll
let her. She keeps herself and her brother out of the power struggles that the
shifters go through preferring to maintain a neutral position.
History: Shylene was an orphan and spent her childhood moving from foster home
to foster home. However, she didn’t let it get her down, instead, it made her a
stronger person and her only regret is being separated from her brother during
their childhood. As the ‘older’ child, she feels she should have done more to
keep them together She still keeps in touch with her last foster family
appreciating their support from when she’d been infected by a werejaguar.
Shylene was infected while walking home with her then boyfriend from her 20th
birthday party. Unfortunately, her boyfriend was killed in the attack but
Shylene survived the attack. It was a shock at first to learn she was a
werejaguar but with the support of her foster family, she came to terms with
it. It didn’t help that Nick decided to seek revenge for what happened to her
and became infected himself. The guilt over that helped pull her through and
accept what she was as she realized she needed to be strong to support him as
well as herself
She currently works in research at Harvard trying to find a reason and possibly
a cure for the plague that took so many shifter lives but didn’t touch so few
of them.
Strengths: She’s very agile and swift especially in jaguar form
Weaknesses: She’s not a big fighter though she can fight if necessary; trying
to talk people down has led her into trouble in the past. Spiders really creep
her out and she usually has to go find a ‘spider-killer’ to take care of it for
her.
