| Personality: Drew is good at his job and loves what he does. Charming and
social, he likes to joke and have fun but he’s all business while working. He
spends all of his down-time with his son, easily tossing aside all worries to
immerse himself into a baseball game or high stakes two-player Xbox 360 game.
Drew isn’t prejudiced against preternaturals though he does hate how they tend
to take the law into their own hands. He’s gotten pretty good at dealing with
them and has made it a point to be on a first name basis with the leaders of
the preternatural community.
History: Born in 1974, Drew comes from a long line of police officers. He knew
from a young age that he wanted to be a detective and work homicide like his
father. When he was thirteen, Drew’s father shot himself in a hotel room
bathroom.
He was shaken by the apparent cowardice of his hero and after that, was more
determined than ever to be the officer that his father wasn’t.
After graduating from high school, Drew went to college for criminology and
joined the police academy, doing both simultaneously. He was working as a
rookie uniform, having just finished school, when he met and fell in love with
Eva Paulson. They were married at the age of twenty four and Eva pregnant soon
after.
Life seemed to fall into place but only one week after the birth of his son,
Eva fell ill. Thus began two weeks of hell as his wife fought off infection
from a complication due to the cesarean section, yet in the end she didn’t make
it. Feeling lost and alone, Drew threw himself into work, leaving his infant
son with his sister while he worked and recruiting her to help him when he was
home.
Drew gained a place on the canine unit of the SWAT team, bringing his dog home
with him at the end of his shift. By the time his son, Alexander, was learning
to walk, Drew was beginning to heal and he realized that he was failing as a
father. From that moment on, he devoted his free time to his son, getting to
know the little person that he’d been avoiding for so many months.
In 2004, Drew left the SWAT team and went out for detective, happily working
homicide until his transfer to RPIT one year ago . . .
Strengths: his adaptability, his strength of character and the ability to be
objective in even the most difficult situations.
Weaknesses: smokes cigarettes, would do anything for his son.
Other: has a German shepherd named Bruno.
