| Con Report: | |||||
| Katsucon has come and gone, and all I can say was what a great weekend. We left friday afternoon from our univesity near pittsburgh PA and made the trip down to VA. I was ordered to try and sleep in the back seat, since I'd been up all night, while my friend Saber played navigator. That didn't work too well,since I can't really sleep in a car, but at least I tried. There were a few funny signs seen on the way, that we hope I see again so I can photograph them, and a few great jokes that were made as well. (But for Saber's sake I won't repeat them ~_^). At the con I waited in line for registration and I found the girl I was rooming with while Saber got signed up to work gophering. Once settled we went our seperate ways, Saber to gopher and me to find something to do. I spent most of the weekend dressed as Yomiko Readman from the R.O.D OVAs, while Saber spent most of her weekend as Vashette. My costume included a nice, old copy of Dante's Divine comedy and I even went so far into character as to spend much of my weekend lounging around and just enjoying the book. The Con-goers seemed to love that a lot. The weekend was spent spending a lot of time in atrocious lines, spending money, and having a grand time. My only complaint was the cold weather and the fact that the con's two hotels were kinda far away. But such is the way of life, neh? Things took a real interesting turn on the trip home sunday though, since I caught a bug at Katsucon. I wound up in the ER sunday night with a high fever and breathing problems. Supposedly a "Katsucon Flu" was going around. I wound up with the "Katsucon Bronchitis". I think I scared John (my friend and the driver) because my lips were turning blue. Talk about a convention adventure. But all in all, the weekend was just a lot of fun. I hope to make it back to Katsucon in 2006. |
