---- I have always felt in my heart that Corey is much more than just your average songwriter. He has the soul of a POET, and his beautiful lyrics speak for themselves. He writes from his heart and from his soul. His lyrics often offer us private glimpes into his life, his joys and his sorrows. This is his gift to US. And for that gift, I am ever grateful. I would like to share the lyrics from a few of Corey's lesser known songs. Yes--Corey has done a lot of songs which are not on his regular album releases. For more info on these "rare" songs please feel free to email me anytime....
Thanks, Sheri |

The song "HYMN TO LOVE" is actually an English language version of renowned French singer EDITH PIAF's song L'HYMNE A L'AMOUR. His version was released by BMG/AB Disques in 1993 on the EDITH PIAF TRIBUTE ALBUM. It was the chosen as the first single released in France from that album, which also featured other celebrated artists such as Donna Summer, Ann Wilson(of Heart), Pat Benatar, Juice Newton and several others. The video for HYMN TO LOVE was shot in Paris and depicts black and white images of the city, interspersed with lovers embracing, and of course--Corey singing!! It is definitely one of my favorite videos of Corey's. Although the lyrics are originally from the french song--theyare sung from the heart and are truly beautiful in their own right. |

If the sky should fall into the sea And the stars fade all around me All the times That we have known here I will sing A hymn to love...
We have lived and dreamed we two alone In a world, that's been our very own With it's memories Ever grateful Just for you, I sing A hymn to love...
(bridge) -------------------------------------------------- I remember each embrace And the smile that lights your face And my heart begins to sing... Your eyes have never lied And my heart begins to sing Oh my heart begins to sing...
If one day you should ever Disappear Always remember These words... -------------------------------------------------- If one day we had to say goodbye And our love should fade away and die In my heart You will remain here And I'll sing A hymn to love...
Oh for love, we live eternally In the blue, where all is harmony With each day We are in heaven As for you, I'll sing A hymn to love...
Don't you ever worry dear And the stars shall fade out from the sky All the times That we have known here I will sing A hymn to our love
Oh darling Just for you, I sing A hymn to love...

Corey Hart TRIVIA fact... |
|
|
|
DID YOU KNOW ? ? ?
Corey knew from a very early age that he wanted to write and sing songs. By the age of 13 he was already experimenting with writing songs. He never gave up on this dream, and had almost all the songs for his debut album written prior to approaching the record companies...

The video for "HYMN TO LOVE" was filmed in Paris, France and was shot in black and white. This lends it a truly European look and feel. |

Corey Hart is an accomplished songwriter--not just lyrically--but also musically. He learned to play piano/keyboard as a child and also has been known to pick up the occasional guitar--or even to bang on a drumonce in a while ! ! ! Is there ANYTHING Corey can't do well??? According to Corey--he feels his vocals are his weakest point ! ! ! LET'S HAVE A SHOW OF HANDS FOR EVERYONE WHO AGREES...
HEY, I DON'T SEE ANY HANDS ? ! ? ! ? !
Sorry to disagree Corey, but we like your singing just fine ! ! !
In the song "21" which was released as a "B"-side track and later on the Japan Only CD --SPOT YOU IN A COALMINE--Corey truly showcases his musical abilities. On this track, Corey plays all his own instruments as well as supplying vocals. It's too bad this song never made his regular album. It is short--BUT SWEET ! ! ! Well, I LIKE IT ! |
