Chapter 5
Dawn burst through the
door, running up to Angelus and Spike. “I got it!” She tossed the book to
Angelus.
“Good work,” he praised
her, beginning to look through the book. “They bought the whole story?”
“Yup, it went off
without a hitch. I threw in some tears and desperation for good measure. She
believed me completely. Never once did she doubt me.”
“Well you’re shaping up
to be a great vampire, Dawn,” Angelus said, pulling her against him, nuzzling
her neck. “Have I ever told you how much I want you?” he whispered in her ear.
“Not lately,” she
purred, turning her head toward his neck, giving him a light nip as she ran her
hand down his chest.
“Alright, so what does
the book say?” Spike asked attempting to break up the intimate moment between
the two. Angelus went back to the book.
He stopped suddenly,
somewhere in the middle of the book. He skimmed the few pages, quickly flipping
through them. “It’s on another plane.”
“Like we have to go to
another dimension?” Spike asked.
“Yeah, but that’s not
all.” He continued to read through the passage over and over again. “It says
that it’s protected by someone or something.”
“What do you mean by
something? Doesn’t it give any specific information as to who or what?” Dawn
asked.
“No, of course it doesn’t,
because that would make it easier!” Angelus yelled in frustration. “Everybody
knows we can’t have it be easy!”
“How do we get to the
other plane?” Dawn continued to ask questions.
“We have to go to the
heart of the Greek woods; it looks like we can reach the plane there.”
“Are there multiple
wooded areas or is there one in the center? We’re not going to have to go
through all the woods are we?” Dawn asked, hopping that they weren’t going to
have to traipse all around Grease looking for the heart.
“I don’t remember,”
Angelus answered, loosing his temper. Dawn looked to Spike.
“Don’t look at me, I’ve
never been there.”
“When we reach ‘the
heart’ how do we cross to the other plane?”
Angelus looked frantically, “It doesn’t say!”
“Are you sure?” Dawn
asked calmly.
“It doesn’t say!”
Angelus threw the book across the room, it the wall with a ‘whack’ and fell to
the floor. Angelus stormed off to his room in a huff, leaving Dawn and Spike
alone.
“Maybe I should go back
to the Watcher’s headquarters, you know, for journals or something.”
“Forget it, Bit, they
would only tell you who or what brought the box over and how the Slayer sent it
back. That’s if anyone ever brought it over anyway.” Spike rubbed the back of
his neck, trying to relieve the stress that was beginning to take its toll on
him.
“I guess the only thing
to do is to look over the text again and see if he missed anything.” She picked
the book up from off the floor.
Spike walked up behind
her, running his hands down her arms. “I knew you workin’ with the Scoobies,
doin’ all that research would pay off.” He kissed her cheek and moved down to
her neck. She smiled at his comment. He was right, her research skills would
come in handy at times like these, and the only problem now was that she only
had one book with four pages of information.
She looked over the
pages and after a few minutes she slammed the book down on the table following
with a, “That dork!” Spike turned his attention to her. “He gets all worked up,
and he never reads, he’s all about the skimming!” She continued her rant all
the way into Angelus’ bed room. She dropped the book on his chest, pointing to
the paragraph on the page. “Right there! The center wood is a sensitive area,
like a gateway or portal. You knock three times, on what I don’t know, and ask
for an open passage way. Now the problem lies in that there are other
dimensional planes in that area, it’s like a dimensional plane hotspot. They
range in difference, some good, others not so good. We need to find a way to
differentiate between them all; you can’t just knock three times and walk
through.”
Angelus looked at her
shocked and surprised. “Wow. Wait,” his expression changed drastically, “did
you call me a dork?”
“Yes I did.”
“Doesn’t matter,” he
took her hand and pulled her down to sit on the bed. He kissed the top of her
hand, then turned it over and kissed the palm. “You did a great job tonight.”
He wrapped his arms around her waist, moving closer to her.
“Thanks, Angelus.” She
nuzzled against him, running her hands over the buttons on his shirt. He hiked
her skirt up, noticing she was wearing very little under ware. Dawn began to
unbutton his shirt, scrapping her finger nails down his bare chest as he
groaned in response. “What if Spike comes in?” she asked before kissing him
deeply and violently.
“Don’t worry about
Spike,” he said gruffly as he rolled her under him, ripping her panties out of
the way. Dawn unbuckled his pants, freeing his manhood. He kissed her hard as
he plunged into her just the same. “Dawn, I’ve wanted you since you were
created.”
She thrust against him
harder in response. “God, Angelus!” She moved her head, biting his neck, as her
orgasm rocked her body sending Angelus to climax.
Angelus rolled off to
the side and Dawn climbed on top of him, straddling his waist. “If what you say
is true,” she scratched him down the chest, drawling blood, letting it run over
his chest. “Why did it take you five months to do it?”
“Oh, c’mon, Dawn, you
were such a daddy’s girl when you were turned. You still kinda are, but you’re
loosening up a bit.”
“Daddy’s girl?” she
asked, scratching him again, causing him to arch his back with the pain,
moaning.
“Harder next time,” he
smiled up at her in anticipation for the next jolt of pain. “You know, really
into your sire. Clinging to him only, paying absolutely no real attention to
anyone else. A daddy’s girl.”
He got his request. She
scratched him much harder than the last time, across the face, getting up off
him and leaving the room. “That’s the way to do it, Baby!” he called after her
as she left, reaching up to wipe the blood from his face.
Spike had sat out in
the living room watching TV the whole time Dawn and Angelus were in the
bedroom. He had tried to block out the sounds with it, but it hadn’t helped.
Dawn walked into the
room and stood there for a moment. Spike looked over to her, noticing that her
outfit was wrinkled, he hair was tossed, and blood was dripping from her
fingers, Angelus’ blood. She hung her head seeing the disappointed look in Spike’s
eyes. Those eyes followed her as she walked in front of him of him and dropped
to her knees, laying her head on his lap. “You know I don’t feel sorry,” she
said breaking the silence created by the TV.
“I know, Dawn. I’ve
been a vampire for a lot of years,” he said with and understanding sigh.
“I hate him though, I
hate him a lot.” She lifted her head to look at him.
“Welcome to my world.”
He lifted up her right hand, looking at her fingers. “C’mon, let’s get you
cleaned up.” He stood up, holding her hand. She followed him to the kitchen
sink. He turned the water on hot and she stuck her hands under it. Dawn watched
the blood run down the drain. She leaned back against him, turning to kiss his
neck.
“I love you, Spike,”
she told him, just above a whisper.
“I love you to, Dawn.”
They went back to the
living room, sitting down. Angelus walked by, ready to go out before sunrise.
Spike glanced at him quickly, “What happened to you, lose a cat fight?”
“Shut up, I’m going out.
I’ll be back before sunrise. Do whatever you need to do to be prepared to leave
for Grease tomorrow night.” He left slamming the door.
