Disclaimer- I don’t own anything X-Men Evolution.

A/N- This takes place about week after the episode ‘Grim Reminder’. Also, Kitty’s age has been adjusted, for obvious reasons in this story, from 15 to 17 going on 18. And there will be a sequel.

Logan leaned in toward Kitty. She knew what was coming, but she didn’t know if it was such a good idea. It had been a few days since the incident in Canada. Logan had just recently healed form his surgery he had undergone to remove the chip in his head. Kitty never thought that Logan had thought of her like this, and didn’t understand why his feelings were coming at her now with no warning.

He moved in closer and closer. Kitty knew there was no way out of this unless she phased through him. There lips met in a light kiss and Logan began to push against Kitty to lay her on his bed while trying to deepen the kiss, but he went down alone. Kitty still sat upright and moved from the bed.

She had just come up to check on him a few minutes ago. Even though he was pretty well healed, he still wasn’t in tip top shape for Logan. He was lying on the bed and had invited her to sit down. They started to talk and then he stopped and brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear. Then that’s when he had tried to kiss her.

Now he looked at her and she could tell that her was sorry he had done it. As she looked back on it she realized that she had liked it. It had been awkward if anything, but to her there was nothing wrong about it.

       “I’m sorry, Kitty,” Logan apologized.

“Kitty? What like no Half-pint?” Kitty questioned trying to lighten the mood. Logan smiled in response. “Look, I have to go to school. So you lay here and rest till I come back.”

“Well I’ll be here. I don’t think that I’ll be going anywhere to soon.”

Kitty leaned over and kissed his cheek. Logan wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her down toward him in one last attempt to keep her with him. During his attempt Kitty phased through him once again. Logan quirked an eye brow at her when she stood to leave, walking out of the room and down the hallway. She left him in the dim room as she headed for her car in the garage.

At school Kitty met up with Rogue, Kurt, and Evan. All three of them walked together to their next classes. Kitty didn’t want to tell them, or anyone else, what had happened in Logan’s room earlier that morning. She hopped that Jean, or even worse, the Professor wouldn’t pick up on her thoughts. There had been many a time when, Jean especially, would easily gain access if someone was thinking to hard about something.

The day continued to go so slow and Kitty couldn’t wait for it to end. Once the bell finally rang she bolted out of the building and to her car, but she was stopped by Kurt. “’Ey, Kitty, vhy are you in such aurry?” he asked, “Does it ‘ave anything to do with Logan?”

She froze after his last question. “What?”

“I mean are you in aurry to see ‘im?” She quickly realized that Kurt knew nothing of that morning.

“Oh, yeah. I wanted to like get home quick so like I could check up on him so I and have to get my homework done before dinner.”

Vell, can I catch a ride vit’ you?”

       “Sure.”

Kitty wasn’t to happy about Kurt ridding with her. Not to mention that she had lost her place in the driver’s seat. They rode home in silence all the way to mansion with the music blaring. When they arrived at the Kitty jumped out and phased all the way up to the third floor. She ran down the hall and quickly phased through Logan’s door. She noticed he wasn’t in his bed. She looked around and found him standing at the window in his room staring out at what lied below.

“Hey, I’m back,” she said as she walked up behind him, putting her arms around his waist to give him a hug. The action caused Logan to tense up. He still wasn’t sure how she really felt about the events that had taken place that morning.

“Hey,” he said as he turned to face her. She put her head against his chest. He sighed lightly, gently wrapping his arms around her.

       “How are you feeling?”

“Much better.” He pulled back from her a bit, “Look, Kitty, I want to apologize for what I did this morning.” He gave her a sad smile.

“It’s ok, really. I thought about it, and I kinda enjoyed it.” She smiled embarrassed “I think we like, connected or something when we were up there. You know? I felt it. I was so worried about whatever had happened to you. And when I had found out that something was wrong with you I wanted to help you get through it, whatever it was. I know you didn’t want Kurt and I to go with you, but I couldn’t let you face your demons alone. Do you have any idea what could have happened if I hadn’t followed you? Who knows where you’d be right now. Dead, part of another experiment.” As she said the last part she ran her fingers along his hands where his claws would come out.

“Thank you, Kitty,” was all he could say after her heartfelt speech.

“You’re welcome, Mr. Logan.” Kitty looked at Logan and moved in to kiss him. He reached immediately and took a firmer hold around her waist answering her kiss with another kiss and a low growl. He walked her backward to his bed and laid her down. It took a little while for Kitty to get it across to Logan that he was crushing her. He rolled off her and onto his side still holding her.

Scott, soon after Kitty, had arrived at the mansion. He decided to go up and see how Logan was doing. As he walked down the hall toward Logan’s room, he figured that it was a slim chance that Logan was awake, but he thought he’d give it a try.

When he reached the bedroom door he gave a light knock on the door. When he received no answer he proceeded to walk in. “Logan? Are you…” Scott stopped suddenly when he realized what he had walked in on. “Oh, god, Logan, I’m sorry!” he apologized quickly. “Kitty!?” Scott yelled seeing who was with him on the bed. Logan, angered at being intruded on, sat up abruptly and began yelling at Scott. “What the hell do ya think you’re don’, Scott!” he yelled, “Haven’t ya ever heard of knocking before entering?”

“Yeah, like really, Scott!” Kitty yelled.

“I did, but there was no answer,” Scott explained.

“Well why would you walk in then?” Kitty questioned.

       “Whatever, I’m going.”

“Fine!” As Kitty yelled her last word the Professor came rolling down the hallway.

“What is going on here?” he asked concerned, “What’s all the yelling for?”

Logan and Kitty looked to Scott waiting for him to drop the bomb. “Nothing,” Scott said leaving the room.

       Logan?” the Professor asked sternly.

“Scott and I had an argument,” Kitty said. “Sorry for causing such a commotion, Professor.”

“It’s alright, Kitty. Just try to keep it down next time.” The Professor smiled at her as he continued on his way. Kitty looked down the hallway, eyes following the direction the Professor went. She turned back into the room facing where Logan was sitting on the bed.

“That was close,” she said with a sigh. “Maybe I should go. I need to do my homework anyway. I’ll be back to eat dinner with you later if you want.”

“No, you don’t have to do that,” Logan replied.

“It’s ok, I don’t mind, really,” she assured him. He nodded in response.

When it was time for dinner Kitty went down stairs and helped Jean set the table. She collected both Logan’s and her dinners and headed back up to his room. She phased through the closed door and into the room. She helped Logan sit up and laid his tray on his lap. She then walked over to the desk that was sitting against the wall and pulled the chair over to the night stand to eat her dinner. “Aren’t you going to eat?” Kitty asked.

“Yeah, I’m jut a little tired. I guess the surgery hit me harder than I thought,” he replied.

Kitty stopped eating her dinner and picked up Logan’s fork and stabbed a piece of meat with it, bringing it up to his mouth, he ate it. He ate most of his meal like this until he fell asleep. Kitty finished her dinner then took the dishes down to the kitchen. She wanted to get in and out, but was stopped by Jean. “Hey, Kitty, where were you at dinner?” Jean asked.

“Oh, I was with Logan. I didn’t want him to be lonely so I had dinner with him,” Kitty answered.

“Um, can I ask you a question?” Kitty nodded, “And if you feel like I’m prying, then stop me, but is it true, what Scott said? Were you and Logan really making out in his room?” Jean asked.

“We weren’t making out! It just sort of happened, you know. But it was like a one time thing,” Kitty answered.

“Well my only advice is make sure this is a one time thing. You guys can’t have this sort of thing going on. It’s not right, he’s a lot and I mean a lot older than you. Besides, what would the Professor say.

“I know, I didn’t expect this to happen. Just don’t tell the Professor,” Kitty pleaded, “I’d rather him find out on his own than someone else.”

Back in Logan’s room Kitty brought in some of her books and papers to finish her homework. She carefully sat on the bed next to Logan as he shifted over so she could sit comfortably. She snuggled against him as she organized her stuff. An hour later Logan began to get drowsy. “Mm, Kitty, I’m getting’ tired,” he said quietly.

“Do you want me to leave?” Kitty said preparing to pack up and move to her room.

Logan put his hand on her arm. “No, don’t. Stay as long as you want.” He hunkered down on the bed and leaned his head against her.

Hours later Logan woke up looking over to see Kitty asleep next to him. “What the hell is she still doing here?” he said sleepily as he rolled over on his side, pushing all of her papers on the floor, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her tightly against his body.

Kitty woke up to find that she was not where she was supposed to be at five o’clock in the morning. She looked down and found her papers knocked to the floor. She felt Logan’s arms tighten around her as she shifted. “Damn, I’ve got to get out of her before the Professor finds out I’m here.” With Logan’s arms wrapped around her she was having difficulty leaving. She decided her best bet was to phase.

Kitty made it back to her room with no problem. Rogue was sleeping soundly and didn’t even stir when Kitty came in.

Kitty looked in her closet for an outfit. She had just gotten out of the shower and was getting ready for school. It was a little after six and Rogue was just getting up. She looked over to Kitty, “What time did you get in last night?”

“Oh, a little after twelve, I had fell asleep in Logan’s room then moved in here,” she answered stretching the truth.

“Really? Is there something going on between you two, you guys seem to be spending a lot of time together now.”

“Nothings going on, we’ve just become closer since we got back.”

After school that day Kitty went up to her room to work on her homework. She sat at her desk and started to pull out her books when she heard a knock on her door. She got up to open it, but it was already opening and she was met face to face to with Logan. He walked over to her and sat her down on her bed.

“I think we need to talk about this. We have to figure out what we’re doin. You’re my student, I’m you’re mentor. You know I’m all for beakin’ and bendin’ the rules, but you’re jailbait, Kit!” He ran his hand over his face talking a deep breath. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for it to come out that way.”

“It’s ok. I get what you’re saying. But I won’t be ‘jailbait’ for much longer. We can make this work till then, can’t we?”

“I don’t know, Kitty,” he sighed. “Ya know I care about ya, don’t cha?” Kitty nodded. “I haven’t felt this way in the longest time and I don’t want ta lose ya, but I can wait for ya.”

Logan, I want to be with you, to love you, and care for you.”

“Same here. I don’t say this very much, but when I do I mean it.” Logan leaned in toward her getting close to her ear, then whispered, “I love you, Kitty.” Then he kissed her passionately, wrapping his arms around her. She wrapped hers around his neck returning the kiss. He laid down on his back letting her lay on top of him, straddling his waist. She pressed herself against his as he placed hot kisses over her neck. “I want ya, Kit,” he gasped as she grinded against him.

“Really?” she asked giggling, “I hadn’t noticed. “He rolled over pinning her down beneath him. He moved his knee, applying pressure to hers to maneuver between them.

She began to tug at his shirt that was tucked into his pants. “Relax, Kitty. We don’t have ta rush.”

Mmmm, I can’t help it. You fell so good,” she moaned between kisses. Logan pulled back, taking off his shirt and throwing it to the floor. She ran her hands up his chest and down again going for the buckle at the top of his jeans.

“You want to go all the way, huh?” Logan smiled down at her.

“C’mon, Logan, make love to me.”

When all the clothes had come off, and the proper precautions taken, they were back on the bed, Kitty underneath Logan. Logan looked down at her and noticed now that it was the moment of truth, and Kitty wasn’t looking so sure anymore. “You still want to do this?” Kitty nodded, “You’ve never been with anyone before, have you?” Kitty shook her head no.

“I’ve heard enough to know what to expect. Just keep me focused on something else while you use the band-aid method.”

The what method?” Logan looked at her confused.

“You know, do it really fast and get it over with.”

“Ah, I see. I you sure that’s how you want it.”

“Uh huh,” she nodded her head becoming nervous and worried.

“Ok, I can do that.” He kissed her deeply, exploring her mouth while he brought his hand up to one of her sensitive nipples and massaged it, giving her all kinds of new sensations. She was in complete ecstasy until he entered her fast and hard. She gave a muffled cry of pain while Logan stayed perfectly still. Kitty stopped reacting to Logan’s touches while she adjusted to having him inside her.

After a few minutes she began to react again and thrust her hips against him. “Mm, Kitty.” Logan answered every one of her thrusts. She started to moan uncontrollably. “Not so loud, Darlin’. You want every one to hear you?” Logan smiled as she blushed.

Kitty eventually reached the beginning of her climax. She thrust harder against Logan trying to reach her peak faster. Logan was more than happy to accommodate her in her mission. She felt the greatest waves of pleasure wash over her as Logan soon followed.

Logan rolled off next to her as they both took ragged breaths in the exhaustion. Kitty snuggled close against him, closing her eyes as she drifted to sleep.

Logan could hear Rogue knocking on the door as he remembered that he had locked it earlier. He picked up his pants off the floor, putting them on, heading for the door. “It’s about time,” Rogue mumbled, but stopped short when she saw who had opened the door. “I’m at the right room, so what are you doing here?”

“I was just talkin’ to Kitty.” Rogue looked past him and saw she was asleep.

“Really? Must have been some talk, she’s asleep.” She noticed articles of clothing strewn around the room. She threw he few on her bed to the floor. “Wait a sec. You guys did it didn’t you?”

       “Mind your own business, kid!”

“Well ya know the Professor isn’t going to like this.”

“Well I wasn’t plannin’ on telling him, and neither should you.” He looked at her sternly.

“Yeah sure, whatever,” she mumbled pulling down the sheets on her bed and getting a set of clothes to wear.

“Well I better go, night, kid.”

“So what Jean said was true,” she said smiling, knowing she had hit a nerve, pushing her luck with Logan’s temper.

“About what?” Logan asked with a look like he was going to pound something, or someone.

“About you and Kitty being together,” she replied.

“And where did she hear that?”

       “Scott.”

       “So does everyone know?”

“No, only the three of us. Word does get around. Night, Logan.”

       “Right, I’m leaving now.”

He walked out of the room and down the hallway to his room, getting into bed. He realized he liked where he was before better, with Kitty, and now he missed her. Holding her to him, having her breath against his chest.

He had slept with tons of women before when he traveled around. He would always get up and leave early in the morning, and that was it. He never thought or felt anything for them again. But with Kitty, it was different. He didn’t feel the need to leave. She was home to him now And he wanted to stay with her for as long as he could.

Kitty woke up the next morning to the feeling of being hungry. She realized she hadn’t had anything to eat the night before. In fact she wasn’t quiet sure what she did last night. Then it hit her, she had spent the night with Logan, and if she remembered right he told her that he loved her. Now she knew they were bound to make it.

It was so early in the morning, the sun was barely touching the horizon. She got up and phased through everything in her way until she reached Logan’s room. She poked her head inside to see if he was asleep. He was laying perfectly still, snoring lightly.

She phased completely into the room, finding a nice spot in the bed to crawl into. Logan immediately felt her and reacted by wrapping his arms around her and pulling her nearer to him. Unfortunately for Kitty, Logan squeezed her a little to tightly making it so she couldn’t breath. “Logan! Logan!” she whispered as she pushed against him and tried to wiggle free. Finally, after many tries, Logan woke up. He saw who was squirming in his arms and loosened his grip immediately.

“What are ya doin’ here?” he asked sleepily.

“Trying to fit in the bed with you.”

“We have to stop doin’ this, Kit.”

       “What, why?”

“Most of the kids already know, and Rogue found me in you’re room last night.”

“All the more reason not to worry about it,” Kitty said smiling.

“We have to end this, take a break, or something. I’ll go away for a while. I’ll explain to the Professor what happened and I’ll leave for a year or so and come back.”

“No!” Kitty said hoping he wasn’t serious.

“Then we have to slow down and control ourselves. And that includes no more jumpin’ in my bed!” He looked at her in mock sternness. She looked up slightly upset. “Come ’ere.” He grabbed her and rolled over her. He kissed her deeply and moved down to her neck, then her collar bone, biting lightly. Kitty brought hi head back up to hers and gently kissed his lips. Logan laid back down next to her and held her in his arms. “I don’t think I can control myself for very long,” he admitted. “Maybe I should leave. I think we need to tell the Professor about what’s going on.”

“Ok,” Kitty sighed laying her head on his chest.

Logan walked down the hall toward the Professor’s office. He reached the door, took a deep breath, then entered. He made his way to the Professor’s desk and sat down in a chair. “Hey, Chuck.”

“Hello, Logan.” Logan sighed, then shifted nervously. “Is there something you wanted, Logan?”

“What? Oh yeah. Um, I came here to tell you that Kitty and I have been becoming closer since that whole escapade last week.”

“Well that’s good, Logan. I like to see a teacher become closer to their students. That would also explain why she’s been spending so much time with you. I think she’s quiet taken with you,” the Professor said with a knowing smile.

“You have no idea,” Logan mumbled.

       “What was that?”

“Nothing. Look, I don’t think you understand. We’ve become, really close.”

“Are you talking about what I think you’re talking about?” asked the Professor surprised.

“If the words jail bait are flashing in your head, then yes.”

“Oh, I see,” the Professor replied troubled.

Kurt walked down the hall on his way out to school, when he heard Logan and the Professor talking. Now Kurt wasn’t one for eavesdrop on people, but what he heard had peaked his interest.

“I just wanted to let you know. Some of the kids have already figured it out. I wanted to tell you before you heard it from one of them,” Logan explained.

“What are you going to do about this, Logan? You know I do not allow this kind of behavior,” the Professor said sternly.

“I know you don’t. And we’ve discussed everything from backing off and waiting, to me leaving, which is what it might come down to. You know, go off and let her finish growing up, then come back when she’s older.”

Kurt was getting ready to teleport as Evan saw him. He noticed Kurt was upset and decided to find out why. Unfortunately Kurt was to fast. Evan made it to the door just as he disappeared and caught the end of the conversation that was going on. “Whoa! The guys have got to hear about this,” Evan said.

“I take it you’re talking about a year or two?” Logan nodded. “A lot can happen in that time, Logan.”

“I know. But I can’t stay here with her and keep my hands off her, you know what I’m saying?”

“I understand. But you and Kitty have to make a decision. You’re welcome to stay here, Logan, but only if this relationship between you and Kitty ends.”

“We will, don’t worry,” and Logan made to leave the room.

As soon as Kitty got home from school, she heard the Professor calling her. ‘Kitty, can I please speak to you.”

‘Sure, I’ll be there in a minute,” she answered. She walked to his office, went in, and sat down.

Logan came and spoke with me this morning.”

       “He told me he would.”

“I know what’s been going on between the two of you.”

“I don’t know exactly how this happened. It’s not like I’ve been trying to get this kind of attention from him. It’s like we just clicked and all the pieces fell into place while we were away. Neither of us meant for this to happen.”

“I understand, and I’m going to tell you what I told him. A decision must be made and made soon.” Kitty nodded at him. “you may go now. The two of you need to talk.”

“We know,” Jean and Rogue said in unison. Evan sat looking confused.

“What do you mean, ‘you know’?”

“Scott told us he saw them together,” Jean explained.

“And you didn’t tell me?” Rogue shrugged in response. “But I mean it’s Logan and Kitty! Logan doesn’t even seem like the type to get with Kitty, or anybody. I just can’t see it happening.” Evan sat and tied to think about it.

“It’s not any of my business,” Rogue said.

“Evan’s right, it is kinda weird when you think about it,” Jean said.

“I try not to,” Rogue said, “I’ve learned to much about them as it is.” Jean and Evan both frowned in confusion.

Kitty left the office and ended up at Logan’s door. She knocked on the door as she entered. He adjusted himself, sitting up on the bed. “Hey, Half-pint!” he said patting the spot on the bed next to him. “I talked to the Professor today.”

“I know. That’s where I just came from. He said we needed to talk.” Logan gave her a grave look.

       “Yeah, about that.”

Kitty frowned. “You aren’t going to leave are you?”

“Look, I think it’s our only choice guaranteed to work,” he explained.

Kitty thought about it for a moment before she asked, “Would you come back?”

Ya know I would! I couldn’t stay away from you!” He reached an arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer.

“How long would you be gone?” She laid her head against his chest.

“Not much longer than a year.” He ran his fingers through her hair.

“A lot can happen in a year, Logan.” She sighed.

“I know, just remember I’d come back.” She leaned up and kissed his check. “I’m not going anywhere for a few days. Don’t think about it now.”

“A few days! Logan, did you plan this already?”

“Well, while you were at school, I thought about it. The Professor told me we had to make a decision. I don’t know how your talk with him went, but he was pissed with me! He wanted me to end this now. You’re lucky I talked him into letting us have a break!”

“He’s making you leave isn’t he!” Kitty said furious.

“No, Kitty. That was my decision, and he’s aware that it’s what I’m going to do.” She calmed down a bit. “Now, c’mon, why don’t we make the most of the next few days.” She sighed, nestling against him. “So what do you want to do this afternoon?”

“Why don’t we go hang out outside.”

“Sure.” he got up and made his way to get a shower. Kitty followed until she reached her bedroom.

“Let me know when you’re ready,” she said as she went to her room.

Kurt sat on the roof alone. He hopped that he had misunderstood everything he had heard. He liked Kitty, a lot, and from what it sounded, Logan was taking her and his chances away from him. Kurt had tried so hard to get Kitty to notice him and Logan had screwed it all up for him. What did she see in him anyway, he was way to old for her.

Kurt looked down on the estate and saw Kitty and Logan exiting the mansion. “Vhat are zey doing?” He asked himself.

“So, do you want to sit down?” Logan asked.

“Sure.” They found a nice grassy knoll and sat down. Kitty leaned back against Logan running her fingers along his thigh. “I’m going to miss you when you’re gone.” She turned around to face him and kissed him deeply.

Kurt kept his perch on the roof and continued to watch the couple. As he watched he became more and more upset by what he saw.

Logan wrapped his arms around her. Kitty phased through him and took off running. Logan opened his eyes noticing she was gone. He looked around to see where she went and picked up her scent. “You know I’m gonna find ya, right, Kitty?”

“Yeah, but I don’t plan on making it easy!” she yelled back heading into the woods.

ah, my favorite,” Logan said, smiling to himself. He followed her scent into the woods and stopped short, almost running into a tree. “Nice try!” He continued to follow her and picked up that she had doubled back, heading back out the way she came.

She snuck up behind him and tackled him to the ground. He rolled them over and they ended up with her on top, outside the woods.

He reached a hand up and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. She smiled down at him in response. “I love you so much, Kit, you have no idea. I don’t even know when it happened. I mean that whole ordeal last week just brought it to the forefront. I remember when you used to annoy the hell outta me year ago and now,” he left it open.

“And now what?” she asked. He just looked at her. “Now what?!” she asked again pushing against him urging him on to finish his statement.

“And now,” he said smiling, “I just…”

Logan was about to finish his sentence when Kurt appeared. He couldn’t take it any longer. He had sat and watched everything that had happened between the two of them and now he had decided it was time to interrupt.

“Kitty, I have feelings for you, and I will do anything it takes to win your affection,” Kurt started, then he said to Logan, “You’re not good enough for her! And if you don’t leave her alone, I’m gonna take you out!”

Kitty was still recovering from Kurt’s sudden out burst of words while Logan was laughing at him. Kitty had never expected this or what was about to come next.

“You really think you can?” Logan asked between laughs. At this point Kurt was way beyond pissed.

       “I bet I could!”

“Forget it, I’m not gonna waste my time on you.”

“That’s very mature of you, Logan,” Kitty said. Then she looked at Kurt, “You, I’m not so sure.”

Kurt ignored her and continued to challenge Logan. “Vhat are you, chicken?” asked Kurt. Logan turned around to see Kurt making chicken noises with his arms bent like wings.

“All right you ugly overgrown smurf!” Logan yelled. He ran at Kurt and got in a cheap shot before he disappeared.

       “Kurt, stop it!” Kitty yelled.

“I’ll stop when he leaves you alone!” Kurt yelled back.

“Not a chance, Fuzz ball!” Logan growled.

“Will you both stop it!” Kitty yelled at them.

In his office, the Professor sensed something was wrong. After a few minutes he was outside. When he reached the grass he found Logan and Kurt in the middle of their fight. “Logan, what are you doing!” Xavier yelled. Kurt and Logan both stopped and looked at him. “What’s going on with you two? Logan, beating up a student!” Xavier said with a look of disappointment and anger on his face. “I want you both in my office now!” Kurt and Logan walked off toward the mansion saying things back and forth to each other.

“What happened here?” he asked Kitty.

“I don’t know. Logan and I came out here and the next thing I know Kurt and Logan started to challenge each other.

“I have to go talk to them now,” he said as he turned to go.

When he entered his office he found Kurt and Logan still arguing. They both stopped when they noticed the he had entered. “You two are still at it, are you?” he asked.

“I’m really sorry I went off like that. I shouldn’t have done it,” Logan apologized.

“Yes, it was,” the Professor said back, “And you, Kurt, do you have anything to say?”

“Yes, I’m sorry to, but I was only looking out for Kitty,” Kurt answered.

“Since when is anything Kitty does any of your business?” Logan asked with a growl.

“Since she started getting closer to you!” Kurt answered back.

“Kurt, there are things in progress that are none of your concern.”

       “But, Professor!”

“Kurt, our talk is done. You may leave now.” Kurt turned and walked out the door, porting as he went.

Xavier then focused his attention to Logan. “Like I said before, Logan, this relationship between you and Kitty is inappropriate. The students are talking an their opinions of you are drastically changing.”

“I don’t care what they think!” Logan growled.

“Be that as it may, it’s for the best.”

“It’s been taken care of. I’m leavin’ in a few days.”

“If that is your choice, I suggest that you leave sooner rather than later.”

Logan left the office and headed toward Kitty’s room. When he reached the door he knocked and Rogue answered. “Is Kitty here?” he asked uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. Rogue opened the door wider and moved out of the way to let him in. “Thanks.” She walked into the hallway and closed the door behind her.

Logan found Kitty sitting on her bed reading a book. Logan sat down next to her, pulling the book out of her hand, “Kitty, I’m leaving tomorrow.”

“What? But you weren’t supposed to leave for a few days!”

“With stuff like what just happened I have to leave sooner. The students are talking about us, we have to take a break now.”

“But we didn’t know Kurt was going to do that!”

“I know, Kitty, but we both know that my leavin’ is for the best. I’m going to come back.”

       “I know.”

“Just count down the months, keep yourself busy, and I’ll be back before ya know it.” He gave her a sad smile.

       “Where will you stay?”

       “There’s a cabin I have, I can go there.”

“Why don’t I come with you?”

“It won’t solve the problem. Besides ya have to finish school.” He brought a hand up to her check and brushed it lightly. I love ya, remember that, and nothin’ would keep me from comin’ back.”

The next afternoon Logan stood at his motorcycle packing to leave. Kitty stood off to the side watching him pack. He looked to her and motioned for her to come nearer to him. As she did, he pulled her into a tight hug, kissing her deeply. She wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him closer.

Tears began to slowly run down her cheeks. Logan pulled back and wiped them away. Kitty smiled embarrassed. “Don’t go,” she begged.     “We’ve already had this conversation. I have to go.”

“I promise, we can stop this, and I won’t spend time with you anymore if you stay.”

“It’s not you self control that everyone’s worried about.” He gave her a smile. He swung a leg over his bike and revved it up. “I’ll see you when I get back, Half-pint.”

“Bye,” she said as he peeled out of the driveway.
