The Must See Movie List

Casablanca
Summary: World War Two is in full swing, but in Casablanca, part of unoccupied France, a new Nazi threat is starting, triggered by famous anti-nazi underground leader Victor Lazlo. Rick, owner of famous Rick's Cafe Americane, came to Casablanca to escape his past, but it seems determined to catch up with him. Comments: A classic movie! It has made number two on the top 100 movies list, and has captured the hearts of millions of viewers. There's simply no comparing it to any other movie you'll ever see. It's a wonderful romantic thriller!

The Philidelphia Story
Summary: Rich Tracy Lord merely wishes to have a happy second marriage, and it might be possible, seeing as she's getting married in just a few days. However, when Spy Magazine blackmails her into letting them do a special on her wedding, things go topsy turvey! Her ex-husband is showing up, as well as her filanderous father. She's falling in love with the reporter whom she's supposed to hate.
Comments: An excellent comedy! A wonderful movie that turned Katherine Hepburn from box office poison into box office star! Along with Cary Grant and James Stuart, this is a classic comedy not to be missed. It also can be done wonderfully as a stage play.

Charade
Summary: Regina Lambert's marriage has become a flop, and she's planning on getting a divorce. However, the divorce becomes instant when she find out her husband's been murderd and tossed off the train. What secret fortune was he killed for, and why do these strange men her husband knew in life think she has it?
Comments: It's a thriller, a comedy, and a romance all in one. The second to last of the movies Cary Grant ever made, and with Audry Hepburn. It is a classic, classic film, that will keep you laughing and on the edge of your seat.

The Prince of Egypt
Summary: The Prince of Egypt is the beautifully illustrated life of Moses as his life might have been as a prince in Egypt, and eventually, a leader of thousands of Hebrew slaves. It's a heart string tugger because of the wonderfully acted relationship he has with his "brother," Rameses, who is destined to be Pharaoh.
Comments: I think the reason I like this movie so much is because it doesn't have all those kid jokes that are the only thing keeping it in a child range. No, it's a serious movie, with pleanty of comedy in it, but of the sort all age groups can enjoy. Stunning music by Hanz Zimmer will make you yearn for the soundtrack! Also, Ragtime fans will note that Brian Stokes Mitchell sings "Through Heaven's Eyes." I just about had a heart attack when I found out. He's fantastic rendering is one of the reasons it's one of my favorite songs that Stephen Schwartz did for the movie.

More coming, I'm just lazy.
