Caterpie - Pidgeot

Butterfree and Beedrill learn attacks in an unusual way.
The first and second evolved forms never actually learn any attacks.
Caterpie starts with Tackle and String Shot.
Weedle starts with Poison Sting and String Shot.
Metapod and Kakuna start with Harden.
When the Pokémon evolve, they keep their starting attacks.
So a Butterfree evolved from a Caterpie will know Tackle and String Shot, while a Butterfree captured as a Metapod will know Harden.
It is pointless to stop either of these Pokémon evolving.
