Desperate Life

By Guinevere

Has hope become a mere memory?

You fear your struggle's near its end

The only place life seems real anymore

is in this hospital room

Why do they fight so hard,

In such an endless battle, if you aren't worth saving?

You fight hoping to lose, but to you it's winning

You wish only to find happiness

The only place you can see love anymore

Is in the fortune cookie

Left on the table near your door

It says "Love will take you home"

As you cry, the walls tumble down

and you feel It could never be worse, and then it is.

You wish to find the answer, the easier way

You wish to know where life will go from here

Wouldn't it be easier to throw it all away?

You could rid the world of your misery

Everyone would be happier without all your fear

Can't you see they're fighting for you

Loving you, hoping and praying for you?

They would die if you would fall

This time somebody's there

They were there to catch you

You fell only to be caught in the arms of hope.
